We had an okay stay overall. The views from the hotel were absolutely fantastic and definitely one of the highlights of our visit. However, the hotel itself is very dated and is in desperate need of refurbishment. Our room wasn’t too bad overall, but the floor was dirty and clearly hadn’t been swept properly, and unfortunately the bed was uncomfortable. The service was okay but could certainly be improved. That said, the staff were friendly and welcoming, which was appreciated. We also had a good meal in the hotel restaurant, which was another positive. Overall, we had an okay stay, but the hotel really needs significant investment and updating. With some refurbishment and improvements to cleanliness, comfort and service, it could be a much better experience, especially given the fantastic views and setting.

This is one of those special, out-of-the-way places that makes a vacation fun and unique. The staff was helpful and courteous, the food was tasty, and the views were outstanding. Our room was quaint but tidy, and the grounds were inviting. Best of all, the rate was perfect for our budget. I highly recommend the Alte Hotel to anyone visiting the Algarve region!

Charming 3☆ Hotel that provides a lot more than is expected. Staff friendly and helpful. Food fabulous. Views from the dining area rightout to the coast line. An unbeatable vista. Gardens arranged with many seating areas, that offer private cloisters as an alternative to just sitting poolside. The Alte hotel is a secret jewel that I will be visiting again and again. Love it.

The property is a good base from which to explore the area if you have a car. Breakfast is plentiful with a wide variety. Beds are somewhat comfy. Access to fridge is available if you ask. Parking is free. Fairly quite at night but rooster’s will get you up in the morning ready for the next day!
