Beautiful place , staff were lovely all friendly and helpful , we started in the Carlton and moved to the Victoria for the last night as the Carlton was closing for the season and we wanted to stop an extra night both hotels are lovely and the corridors joining them all together just amazes me that you can go from hotel to hotel to hotel via these corridors and don’t need to go outside , it’s just fantastic . I will definitely be back for a holiday again soon with this company. I’m very impressed.

Love TLH- always book when I stay in TQY as you can’t beat the facilities and location and value. The staff are always great- home from home. However- the rooms (mainly in the summer) are way too hot. Fans are provided but the room I last stayed in at least was 39 degrees all night and meant I could sleep at all- which is the whole point of a hotel room. It’s just the build of the place I’m sure but without air conditioning or better air flow in the property it’s impossible to stay more than a couple of nights without sleep deprivation

It was a great hotel and great location to be in a 3 star hotel with indoors and outdoor pool. No booking needed. You just used it when it suited you! The Victoria restaurant was good as well! Good food, the food was very British. For dinner you got a selection of starters, mains and desserts. I always found something I liked! What could be improved is a bit of modernising! We lived in a family room in the TLH Victoria part of the hotel and the carpets in the hallway most have been there since the war...! And better ventilation needed! Both in hallways and the rooms! The hallways smelt of old carpet and still air! The rooms smelt nice but were very hot. It was a fan in the room that helped but it was hard to sleep on the hotter days.

Great place to stay for a family - the facilities in the apartment and activities in the hotel are great and it’s close to the beach, Marina and Town Centre. It’s also not too far from the rest of the Riviera. We’ve lived at other good places in Torquay in the past, but this was by far the most practical and functional place for us as a family.

I have stayed at the resort numerous times and have always enjoyed my stay. Unfortunately this last time was not so good. The evening entertainment in the Derwent is always great but it was closed due to a private function. Giving an alternative in the Carlton which does not have the same ambience therefore not many people attended. This has put me off returning to the resort I’m afraid

The pre-welcome before we arrived with a phone call and email etc. advising of the entertainment schedule etc. was a fantastic touch, so was the professional manner of the staff member when I called to ask about an extra guest. On arrival however the welcome at the reception wasn't the warmest, both females on the front desk didn't look or sound the happiest but we're professional. We found our apartment which was very spacious however was showing signs of disrepair in places and lacking maintenance. Overall other than a few areas in which the cleaning hadn't been carried out; the apartment was perfect for our needs and great for a family of 4-5. It featured one large bedroom, with a separate living room off a hall with a TV, dining area, storage and a double sofabed. The bedroom had recently been decorated with a double and single bed, good to have USB sockets and power by the bed. The kitchen area was a good size however hadn't been cleaned properly. Nice sea view, and easy access to the car park and outdoor areas. We stayed room only so didn't eat breakfast, but the restaurant(s) looked good. We did eat lunch and had food at the pool bar (Aztec) the food was good and drinks were reasonably priced. The indoor pools are excellent and included, some work being undertaken to the carpark above, so good to see the scaffolding as a safety precaution above the pool. Facilities are excellent, plenty to do but the whole place needs some TLC Inc some safety hazards.
