A castle in the backyard!

A lovely spot well situated for walkability to downtown & Dallas Road. The garden unit was lovely and clean, though there was a funky smell from some of the kitchen's cleaning supplies. Otherwise comfortable with our own exterior entrance and patio.

She truly made us feel right at home 💛 The location is perfect—nestled in a quiet, charming neighborhood just steps from Craigdarroch Castle and a lovely walk to downtown. The surrounding area is peaceful, full of trees and history, and ideal for both relaxing and exploring 🏰🚶‍♀️ Our room was spotlessly clean, cozy, and thoughtfully arranged. You can tell great care is taken in maintaining the space 🛏️🧼 We also really appreciated the guest kitchen and laundry facilities—super convenient and made our stay feel even more comfortable and easy. Being able to make a cup of tea or do a quick load of laundry made all the difference! 🍵👕✨ Overall, staying at The Craigmyle brought us a real sense of peace and connection. I don’t usually complain, but I Was not impressed that I had to park three blocks away to stay here, the ad said parking onsite and on street. It did not mention that people had to compete with residents for a parking spot! Could not even bring my luggage because it was far away and I couldn’t carry it that far. Then we get there and my room is up two flights of stairs, which for someone with muscle issues wasn’t great. I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and was greeted by a big spider walking across my foot. The bathroom floor was dirty. The internet didn’t work which was not convenient at all as there was no tv in our room either. The place was nicely decorated, the bed was comfortable but the lack of parking on site and stairs were very inconvenient.

The hotel was okay for a short stay. The room was quite small, and there was a noticeable musty smell in the hallway, like old furniture or carpets. The Room itself was clean. Unfortunately, the window didn’t have proper blackout curtains, so it got quite bright early in the morning. Staff was friendly, and the location was fine.

We loved the house, very interesting history and so close to the castle! It was very comfortable and the staff exceptional. I suggest an improvement to the coffee available; maybe a better coffee machine in the lounge. It's a great facility for guests and very welcome. Nice to talk with other guests!
