Review: Bahía Príncipe
This was my first time at an all-inclusive hotel, and there were some unexpected surprises. Adding an extra person to the room cost an additional $1,120 for seven nights, which I wasn’t aware of beforehand.
As for the food, I was expecting more authentic Dominican flavors, but most of the options were very Americanized and lacked taste. The juices were not natural but artificial concentrates, which was disappointing.
The rooms have a major drawback: there are very few power outlets. To charge your phone, laptop, or any other accessories, you have to unplug something else, which is quite inconvenient.
Another downside is the limited capacity at the specialty restaurants, making it difficult to get reservations. The rodizio restaurant, in particular, had a very limited selection of meats.
The beach was also disappointing. The water is not crystal clear but dark and murky, resembling a lagoon with an unpleasant smell.
Pros:
• The resort itself is beautiful and cozy.
• Most of the specialty restaurants are good.
• The parties and nightly entertainment were spectacular, especially Dominican Night.
Overall, while the ambiance and entertainment were excellent, there are key areas the hotel could improve, especially the food, room amenities, and beach quality.
