Horrible and Disgusting BED BUGS!!! Me and my 2 children checked in July 3rd for a fun vacation when my daughter woke up freaking out with bed bugs, bites, and blood spots all over her sheets!! The head house keeper was very apologetic but when it came to the front desk supervisor/manager a tall lady with long brown hair and glasses (so rude never told me her name!) When we finally made it to the front desk she could be bothered to get up from her desk and was speaking through an employee!! The audacity of that women!! I am a single mom with 2 kids in another city and of course they have no other rooms that's to be expected on a holiday weekend but not an ounce of compassion. Almost $550 l have to wait 3-5 business days to get back!! I have 2 kids upset because we have to head home from a vacation that was planned over a month ago. Only thing she offered was a free dinner at the restaurant that we had to leave from at the hotel and the already FREE amenities!! I didn't have another $500 to fork out to go somewhere else!!! Could have offered us a voucher for tubing or anything! I had to leave behind MY OWN pillows, blankets, and some clothing because of the bugs and that rude lazy front desk supervisor couldn't have cared less!!! Awful and gross behavior!!

I had a reservation for the lodge upon arrival. I didn’t have a room available. They offered a cabin when I check in the cabin. It had no Internet nor cable TV. We went to the front office and complained they gave they told us that hotel do.com had sold my account to Expedia because they did not have any rooms available so it just became a terrible nightmare. I wasn’t too thrilled of what happened.

We had a trailer. There is no trailer parking near the lodge. We had to park it about a mile away at some abandoned tennis courts. We were very uncomfortable leaving it there as there was no security.

Amazing views!! Very clean and gave you toiletries and bottles of water. We only stayed one night but I wish we stayed longer to enjoy more of it. Bed was soft and comfortable. Only issue was the fitted sheet kept coming off the corners of the bed.

My good friend came to visit me from out of town for his birthday and he had never been to Unicoi or the Helen, Georgia area, so I looked up local places, and stumbled upon this amazing hidden gem, The Unicoi State Park & Lodge! The staff was amazing, food was great, rooms were perfect, and I am so glad I decided to book his stay with this Lodge! It simply exceeded my expectations, and I have nothing but great things to say about the entire place! A Special thanks to Nae, Brooke, and Chris from the Tavern!

Everything was perfect until the second day where we encountered a roach on our way to our room later another one was crawling on the wall in our room and next morning one was at the door as we walked out. The room was cleaned and comfortable but since they are in a rural area they should do fumigation more often. They had a full house so we couldn't change rooms so front desk couldn't help on the other hand they have a free shuttle and first day manager was very helpful and nice
