This was a perfect place to stay for a four-day trip. The location is just minutes' walk from Grand Via and about 10-15 from Plaza Del Sol and Plaza Mayor; about 20 minutes from the Prado and other museums and from Retiro Park. There are two bakeries and a cafe on the same street, which was very handy for meals. Yet the apartment was very quiet--virtually no noise from other units, and the beautiful, sturdy floor-to-ceiling French doors in both rooms not only closed securely, but also had locking shutters. The combination made it possible to get light and air when we wanted, but also make the rooms quiet and dark for sleeping. The main room even has a sweet little terrace with a nice view at the end of the street.
Everything was very clean when we arrived, and the apartment is quite nice--even nicer than it appears in the photos. The kitchen isn't anything fancy--basics for eating and cooking--but it was plenty for us. And it was great to have the fridge, freezer, sink, and stove/oven. A microwave would have been nice, but we got along fine without it. Management was very helpful, communicated clearly about how to get in, and provided a coffee maker we we asked.
During very hot weather (100 degrees F), the air conditioning worked perfectly. The space was perfect for a couple; a family of four could fit fairly well by using the sofa bed. This was a perfect place for exploring the city and sleeping well at night, and we would definitely stay here again.
