unique fun + well priced! a favorite

Riviera Del Rio was the perfect place to stay. The photos do not do the hotel justice it's unique in a town full of modern western decorated airbnbs and all inclusive resorts with identical rooms. this hotel has personality. The staff felt like long lost friends Rigo at the front and the fabulous Jesus at the rooftop pool bar give a warm fun infectious flair. Jesus makes the best guacamole right in front of you with fresh ingredients. The rooftop infinity pool heated + 24hrs offers a breathtaking view no matter the time of day. Have breakfast in another unique room or pay a little extra to have it as room service. We stayed in 3 different rooms during our stay Medusa and Rasputin were perfect with balconies. Mariposa had an enormous tub. the second pool and hot tub were nice but we spent a majority of time at the rooftop with Jesus and a margarita. Well priced and enchanting we won't stay anywhere else when we return.

Perfect stay in Puerto Vallarta

Very nice location on quiet street. The hotel decoration is lovely, the service was excellent, the breakfast superb. The view from the rooftop bar is fabulous. We loved it and will definitely stay here again.

If you're looking for a charming and intimate stay rather than a large resort, I highly recommend this hotel. The decor is eclectic and fun, and the staff is warm and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located just a 15-minute walk from the beach and directly across from Isla Cuale. Our room had a balcony with a lovely view of the river and Gringo Gulch. The rooftop pool and bar offer amazing views, and we enjoyed watching the full moon rise over the mountains from the rooftop jacuzzi. It was exactly what my daughter and I wanted for our first trip to Puerto Vallarta, and we will stay here again!

Great location in the Romantic Zone. Within 10 min walk of the beach. Tons of restaurants. Easy access to Centro (but hills are involved). Facing the river so it's quiet. The hotel inself is very cool. It's quirky, eclectic and has a lot of it's old world elegance intact. We stayed in the Green Room. One of the smaller rooms (part of the original building), it doesn't have a deck or patio but is located next to the lower (unheated) pool/bar area. I spent many pleasant mornings sitting at the pool with my coffee. There is a 2nd (heated) pool on the top of the relatively new tower which has another bar and great views to the west (great for sunsets) and across the river to the north. The staff is great (Jesus at the roof top bar was full of information about Puerto Vallarta and makes a delicious margarita). Breakfast available.....$12US for full breakfast and $7 for continental. However, there are so many breakfast options within a 5 min walk that we only ate at the hotel once.

Ivan and Jesus were incredible! Also, I forgot his name and a staff member gave me a hundred pesos for my cab ride. I couldn’t recommend this hotel more! They were so kind, helpful, and attentive.

I made a last minute decision to go on a a trip to Puerto Vallarta for my first time. Since it was a last minute booking over Christmas, the options were limited. This place looked nice but I was surprised they had last minute availability so I booked it on a wing and a prayer hoping it would be okay. Immediately upon arrival I knew I'd hit the jackpot. I really don't think there is anything I can say that hasn't been said by others, but I was blown away by this hotel. It felt more like staying at a (really rich) friend's home than a hotel, everything was so personalized and gorgeous. A couple friends joined me on the trip and we all agreed that we did not anticipate spending as much time at the hotel as we did, but the rooftop pool with the world's greatest bartender, Jose, was very hard to leave. I can't wait to come back.

Here's a refined version of the review: This historic property offers a distinctive charm, though it shows its age. Our family suite provided ample space but suffered from dark decor and insufficient lighting. Despite having all essential amenities, the bathroom could use modernization. The absence of windows in our room was disappointing. While breakfast selections were modest yet satisfying, the highlight of our stay was unquestionably the rooftop area, featuring an impressive pool and hot tub setup.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Excellent vacation. Hotel staff was engaging and welcoming. The manager Carolina was extremely helpful. They helped arrange pickup from the airport and an upgrade for a room facing the river. 2 beautiful pools. And a talented bartender, Jesus. Room serviced daily by the friendly Nora. However, the entire staff were kind and pleasant. Quiet location on the river away from the city noise. Close to all the true local Mexican restaurants. We will definitely be staying here again.
