The staff are very friendly and it is located ideally in a central place but very quiet. Services were excellent so close to the Kokopo show ground so really enjoyed the stay with my family Highly recommend families and friends to come enjoy yor vacations here.

Was in Rabaul for just the single night and was very comfortable at this hotel. Free airport transfer was a plus.

No blanket provided n air-con blows direct onto the bed. Found out blanket has to be requested for! Sound insulation very poor. I got a room near/on-top of nite club. Tthe noise of music n people went on till 2am. Bad for my early morn flt

Lovely hotel and restaurant, but lack of elevator and room on top floor was challenging. Absolutely not for old, slow or handicapped.

This is a comfortable Hotel that with good facilities, however a number of little things need attention, the air conditioning unit was noisy and the control somewhat erratic which resulted in a room change, the plug in the bathroom sink of both rooms was broken. The restaurant provided a good selection of meals ranging from pizzas to steaks. The complementary breakfast vouchers on arrival were appreciated and the breakfast was good. The staff were very helpful and friendly although they struggled in the restaurant when it was busy.

My recent stay in Kokopo, PNG was made even more special thanks to the people at the Gazelle International. The friendly greeting started at the airport and they never failed to impress. Every member of staff was helpful, friendly and could not be any more obliging to all our needs. The facilities are fantastic, the food is sensational thanks to the Head Chef and his team of fabulous wait staff who were there to answer all our questions and helped with all our dining needs. The cleaning staff were amazing and went above and beyond any other place I have stayed. The front desk was always courteous and helped us with tours, travel arrangements and recommended some excellent sites to see. Thank you to Rodney, the Operations Manager and his team for making this a memorable stay.

The quality of the service is the best among the hotels in Kokopo. The breakfast was very nice. The weekend special rate is very convenient. They offer free laundry service too.

The staff were very friendly and eager to please. The hotel is well run and the food is very good. The organised tours bought through reception are the best way to see the local area.

I booked a room for 3 nights at the Gazelle International several weeks in advance, paid for it in full at the time of booking, and rang the hotel to confirm the booking 2 days before arriving. Upon arrival at the Gazelle International we were informed that they had neither any record of my reservation, nor a room for us. Mistakes happen, and they do not really upset me if dealt with properly and professionally. Unfortunately this did not happen at the Gazelle. The manager did his utmost to deflect any responsibility for the situation onto Expedia, onto the receptionist in his employ who had confirmed the booking 2 days earlier, even onto us. It took hours for the manager to finally concede, and then eventually correct, the mistake - and only, we think, because we insisted they provide a refund if they would not honor the booking. This was easily the worst and most singularly frustrating experience either of us has ever had with a hotel. There is simply no excuse for the rude and offensive manner in which we were treated, especially given that the original mistake lay firmly with the hotel. Unfortunately, evidence of inadequate managerial skills is also evident elsewhere in the hotel. Despite some wonderful and friendly staff, there is a clear lack of training, with mistakes being made with orders in the restaurant and generally idiosyncratic service. Corners have been cut when furnishing rooms, and the place is quite characterless. Great tour and dinners, hence stars.

Limited linens and towels at time we had to look for staff to get towels, no pillow case on pillows on arrival. This totally unexceptable condition for a 4 or 5 star international standards. Manager putting the blame on staff where he is the responsible person for the inadequate inventory or stock referred to the goods and material and also his managerial skills, very pathetic.
