The Warmest Welcome to Galway

The staff at The Huntsman provided a level of hospitality I haven’t experienced in years. Ian, in particular, was so kind and accommodating. The food at the inn was top notch, and our room was luxuriously spacious. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Quant place in Galway

So this is a boutique hotel so be aware that service will be a little different. Overall our experience was good. We were awakened on our last night at 11:30 pm with loud banging doors from the room next door which lasted for 30 minutes. We contacted the manager (no one at the front desk so we had to go to the attached bar) but the banging didn't stop for another 20 minutes. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable. A fan was provided as there was no air conditioning. The fan di it's job and we were comfortable sleeping. The bed was comfortable and the coffee and tea were replaced daily. The coffee pot was dirty on the outside but cleqaned up easily. The attached restaurant had really good food and is accessible from the rooms.

EXCELLENT PLACE TO STAY

The hotel is well situated - a very short bus trip leaves you in the centre of Galway. Reception area is small but inviting and spotless. The receptionist Louise was so pleasant and helpful. We had a new de luxe room which was large and very tastefully decorated. Huge bathroom. Bed was so comfortable. Top quality throw from McNuttsof Donegal. Tea coffee and water provided. Automatic black out blinds gave us a great sleep. Dining is in the VERY large Bistro. The food is excellent, with great choice. Restaurant staff are so friendly and service is quick. I cannot fault anything in this establishment. We had a perfect stay. The receptionist when leaving was also very pleasant . Full marks all round.

Out of town slightly but easy bus ride in avoided the hassle of finding parking in the city centre. Very popular venue locally - we had to book to get a table for dinner - the food and staff were great. Free parking on site was a bonus.

Great little hotel just outside the city centre. Had a good chat with the bartender in the evening, and enjoyed the stay in the comfortable room. No complaints, happy to have free parking out front.

Vu de l'extérieur et d'en face, l'hôtel est plein de charme et plutôt sympathique, mais l'environnement n'est vraiment pas terrible. Par contre le parking est gratuit et ça c'est bien pour aller au centre de Galway à pied en 25 minutes. L'accueil a été très bien. Les points négatifs : lorsque nous sommes rentrés dans la chambre, il y avait une mauvaise odeur qui venait de la moquette. La ventilation de la salle de bain fait un bruit pas possible. Ceci dit, elle ne fonctionne que lorsque vous mettez la lumière de la salle de bain, heureusement. La vue de la fenêtre n'est vraiment pas terrible. L'ambiance générale de la chambre fait vieillotte. Par contre le lit est grand et très confortable.

The number of restaurants inside is terrific. And it was no bother that we had to walk up the stairs to our room on the second floor because elevator service doesn’t go there. However, the room had a very odd smell. It may have been the leather chairs or it may have been Damp. The bathroom was enormous, and the bed was very comfortable. I was just not a fan of our particular room. Also, unless you are interested in walking upwards of a mile to get to downtown, you need to take an Uber or drive down. It’s definitely not walkable otherwise.

Lovely little place for our quick stay in Galway. Location is 15 minute walk from main city center and the restaurant downstairs has great food. Everyone was very kind -Louise at the Front Desk was a standout! The restaurant manager was super sweet, running after my husband to ensure he had plates/silverware for food to take back to our room.

A great stay in Galway

Hotel ist located on a busy Road, but still quiet at night. A local Bus runs directly to the city Center. The food in offer was very good and the service was very friendly. All together a great stay.
