Our stay at Motel 6 Carlsbad Beach was generally fine, especially for a budget-friendly option near the coast. The room was clean upon arrival, which we appreciated, and check-in was smooth and efficient. The location is definitely a plus—close to the beach and other attractions.
However, there were a few comfort issues that made the experience less than ideal. One of the beds had an uneven mattress that made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep, and there weren’t enough pillows provided for the number of guests. The thermostat was very basic and made it hard to regulate the room temperature consistently, which impacted overall comfort.
It was also disappointing that the TV wouldn’t allow use of the HDMI port, which limited entertainment options during downtime.
Despite these drawbacks, it’s a decent place for a short stay if you’re mainly planning to be out and about. A few simple improvements could go a long way in making this a much more comfortable and convenient option.
