I recently stayed at Ocean Inn and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When we first checked in, the room they gave us had a broken AC. I had an elderly family member with me who gets overheated very quickly, so this was a serious issue. I went to the front desk within five minutes of checking in and asked to be moved. They did give us another room upstairs, but then mentioned we might be charged a $20 cleaning fee just for using the restroom in the first room even though the AC issue wasn’t our fault. That felt very unfair.
The second room was slightly better in terms of temperature, but absolutely not worth the $300 we paid for two nights. The towels felt dirty and cheap, like they’d been washed with low-quality detergent. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable, and the blankets were so thin it was like sleeping without one at all.
Outside the room, the property looked neglected. There were huge potholes right in front of our parking spot, and empty detergent boxes stacked near the AC units, which looked like they were leaking very unprofessional and unsightly.
We used to stay here back when it was Motel 6 and never had these problems. Now that it’s Ocean Inn, things have definitely gone downhill. It’s clear that the place needs major renovations and better management. Unless you’re in desperate need of a place to stay, I don’t recommend this hotel. The only positive thing I can say is that I didn’t see any roaches.
Very disappointed overall
