We were in the tower which has great views and AC in the main room and bedrooms. Kitchen window was broken and wouldn't go shut all the way but only 1cm. Pool areas were beautiful and clean. Rooms were clean and spacious which was wonderful! We enjoyed the floor to ceiling windows that allowed us to take full advantage of the great view.

The staff was super helpful. Much better than in USA. They went above and beyond to help me visit the nearby Tortuga Island. Breakfast options were somewhat limited but everything was delicious. Wifi worked well and we all had a great night’s sleep. Will definitely use this hotel again for any return trip to Puntarenas.

I only spend one night here with my family, but hotel staff made sure that I'm happy. We booked 1 bedroom room in main hotel, but they gave us a free upgrade to the 2 bedroom tower suite, just because they had it available. My daughter was very happy to have her own bedroom.

Nice surprise in Punterenas

Puterenas is a busy port and not really a center for tourism. I reserved here as a halfway point from Tamarindo to Quepos. What a wonderful surprise. Beautiful large condo unit with fabulous views of the water and boats on both sides of the property. 2 great pools, full professional gym with all the machines and free weights, and a great little restaurant.

The staff is very friendly and everyone works hard. The apartment I lived in was spacious has a big balcony with ocean view and harbor view. It also has two bedrooms and a kitchen with utensils. The rooms and hallway were always clean. The front desk people did all they could to help us. The only issues I had was the restaurant. There was nothing to eat! The breakfast they provided was rather bad.

This hotel looks nothing like the photos. It did at one point I’m sure, but it is in need of a lot of repairs on the inside. Many things were broken, the section where our room was had peeling flooring, and it looked nothing like the photos. The only positive was the outdoor area which was very nice. But inside was bad, and the area was even worse. There is nothing close by and appeared to be a dangerous area.

The only reason you want to stay here if you’re headed very very early in the morning to isla tortuga the place would be good for that purpose only! Because there is pretty much no other good options around! Literally the area is in a very rough place! Don’t walk anywhere forget going to the beach.. it’s not good ! The restaurants food is very poor( dinner) or lunch. But for breakfast it is actually not bad at all I was amazed, because I set my expectations so low when we had dinner there, the breaks turned out good! The place needs lots and lots of maintenance.. paint and complete renovation! From outside and inside .. it may have good potential if they fix it up. The pool is okay but even the pool looks in a poor condition.. everything is really outdated and worn out inside out… the people and the staff are super nice and pleasant so at least they have that. Hopefully they fix it up … and I may return .

Customer service is amazing. They treat you like royalty and the bar, the restaurant is delish. The pool is relaxing, the green areas are beautiful, there’s music and it’s lively. The rooms need serious updating. I stayed in room 25 and my parents in room 12. The linoleum floor boards were peeling off and the towel racks kept falling off in room 25. The key cards often failed so the doors did not open right away. This happened in both rooms. There was also an issue with the water, there was very little water coming out of the shower and the water pump was shut off, preventing toilets from flushing. There were few guests, probably like 10, nevertheless, they could have said something to let us know beforehand. The hotel should work on upgrading their rooms and facilities and fixing these issues so that the infrastructure equals its excellent customer service. We have been visiting this hotel for several years and it would be a shame to have to go somewhere else.

First the good part: Cindy, a member of the wait staff (at breakfast time) in the restaurant was attentive, professional, friendly, and a joy to know. That's the end of the good. Everything else was bad. We were a late arrival (11:30PM). We tried to call ahead of time (before 5PM), but no one answered the phone. When we arrived, at a non-manned reinforced gate with absolutely no signage or identification that we had even found the right place, we pressed the button at the entrance, and it was answered with chaotic background noise and speaking; no one even addressing us (in any language). After 2-3 minutes, we were about to leave, when the gate opened, and a security guard appeared. She presented us with the room key, and directed us to our room. So now the condition of the room: One of the two bathrooms had no soap, and did not smell clean. In the other, the sink didn't drain, the shower didn't drain, and the toilet ran until you manually lifted the handle. There was one towel provided, no hand towels, no wash cloths, and no floor mat towel. No one was in the office, so there was no one to call for the issues to be addressed (and perhaps move us to a more presentable and functional room). Apparently there was supposed to be a welcome card with this information, but there wasn't one. The room was hot, and the air conditioner was weak enough that it didn't get cool for more than an hour - well after we went to bed. Mgmt offered little empathy and no compensation.
