The staff was excellent at the front desk as well as all restaurant staff. Location is perfect. The restaurants food & drinks are amazing, I even went to eat there when I wasn’t staying at the hotel. Bathrooms were clean. The price is reasonable. I was able to buy stamps at the front desk & send postcards out through their vintage mail chute. I did not experience ghost activity but the history of the hotel is worth the stay if you’re into that sort of thing. My room was comfortable & I slept great.

First time in Salem. I did research and learn history on the hotel. The Hawthorn hotel was perfect for our stay. Staff, restaurant and room were excellent. Will definitely be recommending this place!

My daughter and I had a fun, witchy time in Salem. The Hawthorne is perfectly placed close to everything she wanted to see. The food and drinks at the Tavern were fantastic; the staff knowledgeable and caring, and the hotel beautiful. I would definitely stay here again.

I've been travelling a lot for work and the Hawthorne Hotel, and my stay at the Hawthorne Hotel has been a clear bright spot in my many nights away from home. The staff were lovely. The room was cozy and charming. The Tavern was a wonderful respite at the end of long days. The location is great. Love the walkable area nearby. On-site parking was super convenient. In short, a great place to stay.

We parked our car and didn't need to get in it again until we were leaving for the airport. The Hawthorne is in a perfect central location with walking distance to almost everything. Rooms are quite small but cozy. An overall great experience.

Check in was great and is in a great location. The hotel is old but I think that’s the look they are going for. My only complaint was the AC didn’t work. We were located on the 4th floor so the heat from below really heated up our room to almost 80 degrees. I turned on the AC to cool down the room but it just blew hot air. After speaking to the front desk they told me that it wasn’t going to work and that they would offer us a plug in fan. The windows only open up about 5” which makes sense for security reasons but it wasn’t enough to cool the room down and to make matters worse our room was above the kitchen vents so our room constantly smelled like a deep fryer. Other than that it was a good stay but I might venture elsewhere for my next stay in Salem.

My husband and I loved the inn, and we both thought the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The beds and pillows were really comfortable. Having drinks by the fire in the evening was charming, and breakfast was very pleasant. They went out of their way to accommodate my food allergy, which was much appreciated.

Rented two rooms with my sister in law and kids. We were checked in by a fashionably dressed young man. Shout out to his shirt from express men! Check in was a breeze and the staff is very friendly. The hotel is lovely and has a great historical feel. Unfortunately, we didn’t receive any hauntings during our stay. Some of the kids might have been happy about that. They offered complimentary water, lemonade, coffee, tea and hot cocoa. The hotel is in perfect walking distance for all the shops and restaurants
