10/10 Exceptional

Awesome lodge right outside the national park.

Older facility but excellent staff and service.

Stony Creek is a charming small lodge located in the beautiful Sequoia National Forest. It is an older facility but is well maintained and clean. The staff was excellent and attentive to our needs. Though there is a short drive to the main sights in Sequoia National Park, it is away from the crowds and is more affordable than other options in the area. Free breakfast included! We enjoyed our stay there very much!

Great Location

Staff was awesome. Room was good but bathroom floor was dirty. The best part was staying inside the park and being able to wander around at night to see starry skies.

2/10 Poor

The staff were willing but the facilities were very poor. The Men's rest room didn't appear to have been cleaned in weeks. The Lodge was due to close for winter 2 weeks later. The menu choice in the kitchen was severely depleted, no stock being ordered if something ran out. The room was very noisy from below (fridges?) The TV didn't work. the 'lounge' lighting was poor, the lounge draughty, nowhere to sit in the evening.

The staff were charming and provided excellent service. The lodge has a shop that sells food and includes an eat-in area.

Overall, Stoney Creek provided what we needed: a place to stay before going to Kings Canyon the next day, and the staff were very nice. Unfortunately, I can’t say much more positive than that. We arrived about 9:00p.m., and had to track down someone in the employee lodging to get in; the “free breakfast” was eggs, bacon, weak coffee and boxed cereal; the TV didn’t work and after 15+ minutes, there was still no hot water in the shower in the morning.

If you are lucky enough to find accommodations within the park, I would take it despite the high prices. I have stayed both inside the park and outside the park and it’s not worth the extra two hours round-trip driving if you stay outside the park. Staff was always super friendly. There’s even a convenient gas station at the hotel. Sure, it is overpriced but the convenience makes it worth it

I liked the creek right down the parking lot, the breakfast was great specially the potatoes. We saw a few deer down the trail to the creek.

The property was very dirty and unkept. The front entry was filthy and looked like it had not been swept in months. The rooms were okay with some mold in the shower. The hotel has potential but needs an engaged staff that cares.

This was a great property remember it's very old and rustic with that said, I wish I had known there was only fans for cooling and they had not been cleaned in forever so when you turn them on dust flies everywhere or at least in room 5...other then that... The room was clean and fresh and the staff was very nice and the food for breakfast was all fresh and wonderful...

Stony Creek Lodge is in a favorable location on the edge of Sequoia National Park. The location saves significant driving time leaving the park to find better lodging. Otherwise, it is an old, rustic property with paper thin walls and limited food offerings of poor quality.

This is a very very basic accommodation that can use some serious renovation but the room was clean.

Pricey, old, dirty hotel.

Needs a deep cleaning. Mold on shower door. Dusty. No hair dryer. WiFi good. No tv service, staff said, “we’re having a problem with that receiver. “. End of conversation. Quite pricey, old, dirty hotel.

6/10 Good

The location to the park was good, the check-in and check-out process was easy, and the room was quiet. It also had breakfast included, a restaurant on site, gas pumps on site, and a little convenience store/gift shop. The rooms were outdated and a little run down, the matress was old and bouncy, and in my opinion overpriced. The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of the parks.
Rodney, 2-night trip

2/10 Poor

There is mold in the restroom, the price is so high for what you’re getting. The bed is uncomfortable. And no AC
