Fabulous inn situated on a gorgeous location. The staff were so helpful and friendly and it was the perfect start to our week travelling around the Cotswolds. The rooms are excellent, clean, quiet and picturesque. The staff in general were also excellent. Must have been the busiest time of the year but the bar and restaurant staff are not very good. Takes ages to get served in the bar and then there is no where to sit as everything was reserved. When I tried to reserve the next day, I was spent a yarn about 17:30 to 18:30 etc.... etc.. The breakfast quality is poor but the quantity is fine. The bacon was like leather, the sausage a bit tough and scrambled egg runny.

If you’re traveling to the Cotswolds in the summer time it may be difficult to stay and enjoy the rooms at the Slaughters Country Inn when the sun is high because there is no AC or central air. Fans will suffice to circulate the air and you can ask for more with reception. The property was lovely, the staff was great and the ambiance was wonderful.

We enjoyed another relaxing stay here in a beautiful, spacious suite with a private garden. We wished we could have stayed longer. We’ve been eating and staying here since our first visit in 1991, so they’re doing something right. We love the village, the grounds with the lawn to the stream, and the nearby villages. Staff were friendly and helpful, supplying fans in the heatwave. The food was excellent - we ate dinner outside on the terrace, from the bar menu - and breakfast the next morning was equally good. It was a shame that builders were repairing pathways with some noise and dust. Nevertheless, we’ll be back.
