The a/c was not strong enough and took a while to work. Bedding and room decor was basic, nothing close to luxury. The refrigerator didn’t get these cold until day 2. There was no cable that was working unless day 3, and Verney House did not pay for services. You could log in to your services if you already had your own paid services. Staff talked against Uber/Lyft and recommended using local taxis which I tried Day 1. That was a mistake because the local taxi charged a lot more and was very rude.The best thing about Verney House was the low price compared to other places. I think they were listed as a “Resort”. That is not what it was at all. The area felt like a slum. The staff at “front desk” is not often available. Though kind and friendly, it doesn’t make up for the bad accommodations at Verney House. 1 flimpsy towel, a lamp that didn’t work, a rug that was about 5”x5” in the middle of the floor. It was a week I had to endure because I was low on cash. On a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a 2.

Not the easiest to find as satnav misleading and staff didn’t give clear directions. Minimal staff available and no real food on site . The rooms are dated and sheets were a bit stained . Good for a 1 night stay to get to Montego Bay airport early but noisy so sleep not that great .

The property was affordable and I didn't expect much. However, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms weren't great, but nothing gave problems and I slept sound. The pool was fantastic and I was also able to just sit out and chill, before and after swimming, without interruption. That was great. Best thing was we're hungry and the staff whipped us up all we wanted. Upgrade on the rooms would be good, but the spot was quaint and enjoyable. Thanks for a great stay.

Never checked in. Went to another property that had integrity & wasn't dishonest. The rooms as the other reviews state are accurate in regards to being extremely low end & outdated. But focus on your likes & dislikes oppose to someone else's. I would not recommend the property but that's for you to decided. It's isolated & it's not walking safe or friendly.

This hotel has very kind staff. The rooms are a bit dated but are functional and clean. The internet cuts out sometimes, but it does eventually come back. The hotel would do well to spray for mosquitos!
