The facility was very nice; the buffet breakfast was excellent. However, both Hotels.com and the Kirkwood Inn charged me for our room, and neither has been willing to admit their mistake and issue me a refund. I will apparently have to dispute both charges through Capital One in order to avoid being double-billed. I will not stay at the Kirkwood Inn again and do not plan to book any travel through Hotels.com in the future.

Kirkwood Inn 5/9/25

There were two floors at the Inn. We stayed on the second floor. Note: there was no elevator to get up to the second floor, so if you're handicapped, you need to ask for a first floor room.
Single queen - comfortable bed
There was a quaint path to walk along that we enjoyed.
Excellent breakfast. Eggs, sausage, corned beef hash, oatmeal, cereal, and lots of amenities.

It was a really old inn that still used a physical key and registration card instead of a card key and online registration. However, it was super clean and bed was comfy. Such a quiet place. Front desk was super friendly and welcoming. Even my grumpy teenager liked it. Breakfast was great. We really enjoyed our stay.

The historic house where breakfast is served is wonderful. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the house. It was raining, so the outdoor seating and ground were not explored or used. The room was very clean and odor free. It was quiet and safe. Payment is processed at checkout. Overall, the property is old school and nostalgic. It is clean and quiet with friendly staff.

Gem of a Hotel

This hotel was a gem! Out of the way and exceptionally clean. Stayed at name brand chains that were not this clean! Breakfast was very good, both hot and cold items and served in a historic farmhouse. Would definitely stay here again!

On the road

Married couple only stayed one night. Check in was simple. Coffee pot wasn't working. It was swapped out within minutes. Room and bathroom were very clean. The bed was a little soft for me. My wife was ok with hers. Breakfast was great

Great property !

The room was extremely clean. Plenty of pillows, bed was comfortable. They offered a complimentary breakfast in a historical home on the property. There were traditional dining room tables with linens, nice variety of food and displayed with incredible detail. The breakfast environment was fantastic and the food was delightful.

Not as described. This place is very run-down. Our room was in desperate need of multiple repairs. One being, in the early morning hours right as the sun was rising, I needed to use the bathroom. In order to not wake up my family, I used my phone flashlight. While in the bathroom I noticed that I could see the sun shining on the back side of the tub surround. The heat ran all night long regardless of the setting. It was 20 degrees outside and we had to open the door at one point because of how hot the room was. I would’ve called for help but the only one working was a very sweet old lady that used a walker to get around. Also, the deadbolt didn’t work for our room. Just the lock in the handle. If you’re looking at this place as an option for you and your family, you should check somewhere else first. It’s good when you’re in a pinch but not a first option for sure.

This is an old hotel and it shows. Front lobby was jammed full of junk and the doors were locked when I arrived. After rattling the doors for a while, I was about to leave when the owner? Check in person? Tottered up to the door and unlocked it. The room was clean but TV is hopelessly blurry, everything looked dated from 1968. Shower stall had damage. Rooms have only outside access. Breakfast was decent but their milk had gone bad. I have no idea how this place got 9.6 rating, hopefully a few reviews will bring it down to 5 where it belongs.

Comfortable hotel in a quiet area.

The room was clean and comfortable. There was a table/desk and two chairs with it. There was a fast internet connection and cable TV with access to Prime and Netflix. The breakfast was better than most chain restaurants with a good selection of items to choose from.
