Would definitely stay again

Really enjoyed our stay, the room had been refurbished but the wardrobe and bathroom doors were slightly damaged/tired looking. Beds were comfortable, very powerful shower and breakfast was delicious. All staff very friendly and welcoming.

Fair, but nothing special for price.

I was put on the only floor (1st) that it appeared has not been updated. All the other floors above were bright and modernised, but the first floor is dark and dated with old carpets and depressing lighting. My room was clean and ok, but was some way down the corridors and at the side of the hotel with no view other than the side of other walls and a dark inner courtyard. The breakfast was basic/poor with apparently a new chef unable to cook bacon other than to resemble the texture of shoe leather. Check in was problematic as they were not sure if my allocated room 113 had been reallocated, even though I messaged ahead on the day to say that I was not arriving till the next morning (still fully paid for in advance). Took over 20min and some growling from me to get the key. Overall, hotel fair for a very short stay, but nothing special. Good location for railway station.

Always recieve a warm welcome when i stay here, staff are very friendly. Rooms are always spotlessly clean. Hotel is directly across from Railway and bus stations which is extremely handy

Great service, gorgeous room

The two ladies at the desk were very helpful. I had booked a double room for the night. Whilst checking in one of the ladies noticed I had a visual impairment so changed my room to a ground floor which was extremely helpful. She also completed a PEEP. This should be done in each hotel however it is rare. The room was beautiful and the bed amazing. Great service. Thank you ladies

Bed for the night

Stayed one night as we had an early bus to catch the next day. Disappointed there wasn’t a fridge, or air conditioning (or fan) in the room. Room decoration tired, no towel rail (or hooks) or toilet roll holder in bathroom. Hotel now charges for hotel parking (£10 a night) but it is cheaper to park in the multi story carpark 5mins walk away (£7 for 24hrs). Also, bar shut at 10am which is earlier than we have experienced in other hotels.

Nice hotel, small improvements needed

Hotel was nice, however our room (Grampian Room) was very cold, we had to leave oil heater on bit could have been better with another one! Mould in ceiling too. Not very accessible for whhelchair user as reception staff not keen on bringing out ramp.

Good stay, not sure about upgrading to deluxe...

We had a good stay in a deluxe room. We stayed 2 nights and only interacted with 3 members of the staff - reception, bar and breakfast staff who just told us to pick a table and help ourselves. The deluxe room was spacious with lovely shower and bathroom but could have done with extra touches eg hooks for towels and robes by the shower, tissues, toiletries and adequate supply of loo roll. Not sure about housekeeping as the only indication they had been was the towels were folded in the bathroom, no clean mugs or bins emptied or bed made. All small things that didn't really spoil our stay but if they bothered to come in the room why not do a proper job.

Pray you don’t get Room 307

The Station Hotel are clearly relying on their location over providing a good customer experience. Upon arrival we were offered to upgrade our room (maybe the receptionist knew how bad our booked room was!). We went with our original choice, upon opening the door we were instantly hit with a waft of what we thought was cigarette smoke but later turned out to be the smell from the towels! The shower experience was especially awful. Climbing into a bath first is beyond me in 2025. I’d have felt safer in the Bates Motel shower! Additionally, the bathroom sink ran out of cold water every morning. There was also a dangerous broken tile on the floor and due to inconsistent room service, we had to ask for more toilet roll! Towels were also not replaced during our 4 day stay, nor were bins emptied. The plug socket next to the bed looked like it was coming off the wall, especially so when removing plugs from it. Definitely a safety issue. The room also had ripped wallpaper and a cracked ceiling. The TV remote had tape on it, instead of a back, so the batteries kept slipping out. Very frustrating. The only other aspect of our room experience would be the lack of any air-con. The window wasn’t closed but nor was it open much. It couldn’t be moved. Every morning we woke up with condensation covered windows. Finally, upon leaving we were not even asked if we enjoyed our stay. Probably due to poor staff morale but a first for me. Clear to see ineffective management in play here.
