Rooms inside are updated even tho exteriors are rather worn-- but it is supposed to look like a western town and it does. AC was excellent for the desert heat. Bed comfortable. Group gazebo very nice for our BBQ. Only complaint was NO SCREENS. I wanted open windows for nighttime but too many flies and bugs to open windows without screens.

I really enjoyed my stay at Palm Canyon. What really stood out was the staff. I was working remotely for most of my trip, but the WiFi was spotty in my area of the property. Sabrina offered up an employee house on the property that had its own router that I could use as a private workspace. It was a great solution, and really showed the staff’s dedication to making things work. There were a few amenities that were not top notch, like the WiFi, the hotel pool was closed & the onsite restaurant was also closed. The latter two were disclosed before I arrived, and there was another pool that was open & there’s a food truck on site Wednesday - Sunday. The bar is also open & the bartender is very kind. Again, the highlight of this place is really the staff & service they give. I would absolutely recommend staying here, and plan to do so again if I’m ever back that way.

Our room at Palm Canyon was very clean and convenient. It was extremely convenient to Anza Borrego, being just a mile or two outside the visitors' center. Staff was helpful and friendly. Maybe it's picky, but I would reommend they put an armchair in the (very spacious) room, since all that was there were two small metal dinette chairs. Also, some rooms had an outside sitting area, which ours didn't. Other than the RV pool (the main pool was closed) there wasn't any outside area to sit in the evening. But all in all, the room and resort were clean, convenient and reasonably priced. I would return if in the area again.

Restaurant and bar were not operational and they did not have the valid permits to open the hotel side pool and jacuzzi. They should communicate this before booking, so it seemed that they are misrepresenting what they can deliver. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Poor sound proofing between rooms, extremely noisy A/C fan, couldn’t open the bathroom door all the way without the door hitting the toilet, shower faucet very old and loose, night stand lamp very wobbly, no USB charging outlet, one usable electric outlet near table. No elevator and rickety old wooden staircase up to the second floor.

We arrived after a long drive a few hours before check-in, and worried about leaving items in our car, were a little surprised that there was no secure area for one suitcase. When asked if we could actually check-in, the desk clerk was a bit of a strict rules follower and said we would be charged $30. Really? Not many people were there! So we came back two hours later. Note--Hotels.com told us that there was a restaurant on site but alas, it was closed. The room itself was okay, bed comfortable but in decades of travel never heard an air conditioning system that LOUD in my life. The complex itself was kind of cute and quirky, in a Cohen Brothers kind of way, with a faux western town. The stairs and decking leading up to our room-- you might want to inspect those, That wood is getting old. I swam in the pool on our trip. It was warm but a little murky. Yep, murky but comfortable! The high points-- I thought your bar was very good. The bartender made a great margarita. The other worthwhile item to mention is your perfect location, right practically at the entrance to the Snaz_Borrego State Park.

The room was great. Big, comfortable, clean and I had my own balcony, what was really nice. The staff is friendly and very polite. The place is really quiet. Close to downtown Borrego Springs were there are many markets and restaurants and to the Anza Borrego SP Visitor Center.
