We recently stayed at Halifax Hall Hotel and it was absolutely fantastic. The hotel is perfectly positioned, especially for visiting family in Sheffield, and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. The staff were so lovely and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was amazing – really high quality with a great selection, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Our room and all the amenities were excellent, and considering the brilliant price, the value for money is outstanding. Honestly, there isn’t a single thing I could fault about our stay. We will definitely be staying here every time we visit family in Sheffield from now on. I’m so glad we’ve found this place, and I’ve already recommended it to the rest of my family – they can’t wait to stay too!

We have stayed at the Halifax several times. We found that our recent visit wasn’t as that great. Generally cigarette smoke could be smelt on the ground floor. The refreshment counters seemed not to have the variety of teas and water wasn’t available. I had to go searching for some decaf tea, there was lots of fruit tea. The carpet in our room and in hallways could do with a vacuum. The shower had lots of black mould in both rooms. The communal toilet in reception the floor had been cleaned but was soaking wet, it needed dry mopping after. The most disappointing was breakfast, selection was less, pastries were stale. Generally the service, selection and food wasn’t as good as previously. My son had a bacon sandwich with very dry over cooked bacon and no butter on the bread. Service wasn’t great and the young lady had an attitude when I wanted to make a change my order. All came up cold, over cooked and dry. Plus I had the bonus of a thick hair in mine, which I showed the team, but had no reply.
