It is obviously an older building but inside is well appointed and clean. Took us a few minutes to find our room so a small location map would be appreciated. Tucked away in a quiet corridor of the French Quarter, this hotel was exactly what you want it to be. It’s old, it’s quirky, it’s full of charm and personality. It’s close enough to easily walk to every part of the quarter, but in a quiet enough area that rest and relaxation are easy. We had a street balcony overlooking the bakery across the street, and had amazing breakfast every day of our stay. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I cannot imagine a better place to stay in New Orleans. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and had an authentic charm without leaning into tacky kitsch. I cannot recommend the villa convento strongly enough. We absolutely will be back.

The hotel is in the French Quarter, so it is an old building. It has some paint pealing from the ceilings and walls, and the floor creeks. The two-person elevator is very slow. However, the staff is great and loction is good - far enough away from the craziness of Bourbon street, but close enough to enjoy the entire Quarter. There is a cafe across the street for breakfast coffee and resturants 2-3 minutes stroll away.
