Run down and staff not trained for emergencies

The inside of the building was very run down. Breakfast was one of the saddest I’ve seen. A tornado siren went off the night we were there and the person at the front desk had no clue about safety. He seemed confused with why people were coming downstairs while the sirens were going off. He also suggested we sit in the front room. The front room was all filled with large windows. Staff should be trained what to do in weather emergencies.

One of the better places to stay

Have stayed at this hotel below. Really enjoyed the bed. Definitely showing it’s age but fine for an overnight stay. Breakfast was so so quality-wise (too carby/sugary) but there were eggs and English muffins so that was good. Coffee was good too.

Stay somewhere else.

While this hotel was reviewed high, it was not what was described previously. My room had an unknown liquid flung across the wall and dripping down that had maybe been cleaned at some point. There was a large stain on the carpet just inside the entryway. Breakfast was lackluster and somewhere in my hallway was a smoke detector that would beep periodically enough to be very annoying. I would not stay here again.

We have stayed several times in the last year. While I absolutely adore the pillows, I was less than impressed with the facilities and breakfast this time. The accessible shower had many strands of hair in it. The in room hot tub was slightly dirty and not all of the jets worked. For the first time, I was not pleased with the breakfast. We ate around 9 on a Sunday and nearly every single hot item was empty, the waffle mix was empty, and the one juice pitcher was also nearly empty. A staff person came in and glanced around the room, but did not restock anything.

We prefer to stay at the Comfort in Marion, but we occasionally stay at this one due to it being closer to my mom's. I can't believe they are both Comforts. This one is so dark and dreary and rundown looking. The parking lot is dark, the lobby is dark. The room was clean, but you course signs of wear throughout the hotel. The breakfast area was small and also dark. Limited selection compared to Marion. Just pay the extra money and stay at Marion, avoid this property.

I’ve stayed in Carbondale many times but not at this property. I knew it was an older property. We didn’t have hot water for shower and our toilet ran all night. A basketball team on our floor were yelling, slamming doors and smoking weed. There were no vending machines on our floor or lobby. The only positive was comfortable bed.
