We arrived at Best Western Chilton and checked in quickly — only a 5-minute wait behind another group. The front desk clerk was kind and went above and beyond: she got me a bandage for a hand injury I sustained unloading luggage and came after hours to turn on the water machine so we could fill our bottles. After settling the kids in, I soaked in the hot tub which was not hot, but it was still warm and relaxing. The shower was clean and functional, if a bit dorm-like with the fully tiled bathroom. Falling asleep was another story. Despite a white noise machine and earplugs, bass from music at the bar next door kept me up for hours until it finally stopped in the early morning. I wish I'd known to request a room on the other side of the building but it was too late by the time I noticed the music. Breakfast the next morning was enjoyable — the kids and I loved the pancakes and sausages — though watching the clerk pour scrambled eggs from a plastic bag into the buffet dish wasn't the most appetizing sight. Checkout was smooth and easy. Would stay again — just in a room on the other side of the building.
