The property is under remodeling. I didn't know that when I booked. The bedroom was large and clean but it had problems. The sink was plugged, the toilet was dirty, the shower pressure was low, they weren't enough outlets to plug in my laptop, the air conditioner was so loud I had to use earplugs to sleep. Limited access to the staff. They were only threre 9 am to 9 pm.

Loved it! It was a nostalgic trip for me and the owners of the hotel are doing a lot to upgrade the hotel. And the Kick Back Grilk next door is definitely worth a visit!! Tell Leif - Dawn & David sent you!!

It was so rustic looking unlike all your chain hotels. Actually had a chance to sit on back patio at night and have the firepot burning asand listening to and watching water on a gorgeous night.
Staff was very helpful and I will go back again. Was satisfied. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. cha

The rooms were beautiful with the decor and the new furnishings. The only thing I wonder about is the absence of a space heater in the bathroom. Winters in Vilas County get pretty cold. I would definitely recommend a stay here for sure.

It’s not a 5 star motel BUT we didn’t expect it to be. It’s a perfectly fine place to stay. Our room was clean and comfortable and staff was pleasant. We’d stay again anytime plus they are pet friendly which means a lot. Hiawatha has been there for years and years and yes it shows wear but who cares? We didn’t plan to spend our trip in our room. We just needed a comfortable bed and clean room to shower and that’s what we had. It was also quiet. Thanks Hiawatha!

They are in the process of remodeling however other problem exist. Mess everywhere. No breakfast before 8 {their website should state no free breakfast till 8 for two hours} no coffee ever and no coffee maker in room. No blow dryer in room{ note says get one at front desk} however no one at front desk till 9. Had a door to outside but no key to come in that way. Their website shows waterfront but cant see water from rooms. Just thought for price the place would have been so much nicer.

Biking and spending the night at a Lodge.
We were biking through the Northwoods and stayedThe place was so beautiful. Rooms were huge. Beds and pillows were so nice. The only thing we have any concern with was the front desk was closed when we wanted towels enough for the people in our room and a hair dryer. The construction was not a problem and is looking beautiful. The restaurant right next door was convenient and very nice. We would come back again.

Renovations
The resort will probably be a lot nicer when they are finished with all of the renovations. It seemed like everything was getting updated during our stay and it was in limbo.

The place was under construction to the point of taped on door numbers and a dirty hallway carpet. We were aware there would be exterior construction going on but not aware of interior.

Nothing to write home about. Won't stay again.
First the good points: Bed was comfortable, maid service very good; little touches, like proximity sensor in the bathroom to turn on the light and USB outlets in the wall.
Bad: we arrived at night, no outside lights on the sign so we missed it three times, no reception personnel, a hand-written sign telling us where our rooms were and that keys were on the door. No-one told us that the property is under renovation, so the main entrance was closed, had to enter through one of the rooms. The bed was so close to the wall that it was hard to get in on that side, and there was no night table or lamp on that side.

This hotel has a few quirks. Missing door chains (especially to the outside door). The remodeling is going on, but we didn't know that before booking. There were a few bugs in the room and the carpet needs to be replaced. Several water stains. The staff were nice, but not always accessible.

The whole place is under much needed renovations. The futon in our room was broken and the did provide a rollaway. The front desk staff vacated after 9pm and wasn’t due back until 9am. They left door keys taped to the doors of anyone who had not yet checked in. The attached restaurant had really great food. Maybe by next summer things will be more put together once the renovations are finished.

The staff was so friendly and warm, and the lobby and room were spacious, clean and comfortable. They had told us upfront that they were undergoing construction, so we knew that and appreciated the heads up, but they still managed to create a very warm and pleasant environment. It was the perfect stay for us, and we'll stay there again for sure! Can't wait to see the results of their renovation, because it's nice even now.

The property was under construction, it should be very nice after the work is completed. Staying in a construction zone is not very relaxing.
Missing a coffee maker in the room.
Beautiful view of the lake and a great restaurant next door called Kickback

I had the best time here! It was my husband's 40th bday and I wanted to do something special. But if you live in eagle you know there is not much to do. Expecially something different. This hotel had a projection screen in a beautiful surrounding room with couches and even a fire place. My husband's bday fell on the night Game of thrones ended and they allowed us to hook up our Xbox one so we could watch it. They went out of there way to make us happy! The room was way bigger than I thought it would be. The pictures they have on there site is to scale. Very roomy The only bad thing I can say about this place was it was a bit cluttered when we got there in the lobby. But when we woke up next morning it wasn't. All in all I would love to go back again and the staff was amazing! The restaurant next door was very pricey the food was good but the wine glasses were small. I probably won't go back cause of the pricing. But it was a wonderful birthday for my husband. Glad we went! I would recommend to anyone!
