Great room and restaurant, poor bed.

Room was a good size as was the bathroom and the shower was great. However the stay was let down by the bed which was too soft and clearly past it's best. On the upside though, having access to the on-site Thai restaurant was a bonus.

When we got there i went to use the toilet and the seat slid off as it wasnt even attatched and ive hurt my arm badly as i had to try to stop myself from falling but it didnt help, the dishes were filthy so we had to purchase takeaway as we were a bit worried we were going to get sick, the stove top had fat and grease all over it, dried food on the dining table, totally flat batteries in the tv remote, and no spa like the photos showed, said it had wifi but it didnt, and said it had a phone to use to call reception but it didnt

at least the mouse was friendly

Overall the room was quiet and comfortable, however there are a few issues worth addressing. There was a mouse in our room, when we had no open food out, suggesting it hadn't been well cleaned and maintained. The door of the cupboard below the sink was falling off. The handle was falling off the wardrobe. The front door was difficult for my elderly mother to open from the inside, which might have been an issue if I wasn't around and there was an emergency. And the blinds next to the door couldn't be opened. I can tolerate these flaws, but it's not good for this price.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this property! While it was a little dated it was very clean and comfy. We particularly picked this motel for dog friendly as we needed to bring our 2 border collies with us this time. There were approximately 12 dogs staying with owners tis particular weekend as the Royal Canberra Dog Show was on. The feedback we got from talking to the dog owners was how great this place was and we couldn't agree more. Both we and our 2 dogs were very comfy here, beds were pretty good and the shower was probably the best that I have anywhere including 5 star. The owners took great pride in providing a great service and I would not hesitate to book here again. Thank you very much for a very positive stay, you deserve a great review

I’ll be back!

Was a little apprehensive about booking a little motor inn at Queanbeyan, but boy was I surprised! The check in process was that seamless that I didn’t even have to go to reception, I simply received a room code and room number via text. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the shower was warm and constant, what more can one ask for!

It suited me perfectly. I had a small dog with me. Plenty of places to walk with her. Thai restaurant on the premises and close to other takeaway food sites. There was a microwave, toaster, kettle and small fridge. Split system air conditioner was good. Good shower. Staff friendly and helpful. Closeness to Canberra was good.

Requested a bottom floor room due to injury over the phone prior to booking, confirmed we could have one then when we arrived we were upstairs. Towels and duvet stunk of stale cigarettes or marijuana. Had to request a change the next day due to late check-in. Towels and duvet replaced but we were then charged additional fees that were never advised at time of booking or checkin. Turns out there are additional pet fees that weren’t included in the original booking price. No notice given for the extra money being withdrawn from our account. Still not sure how they took the money! When I requested an explanation they just said there are additional fees for pets. I said I was never informed of that and they just said it’s in the fine print on the booking websites. Additional pet fees were only charged after the room was required to be recleaned due to the terrible smell. The smell was blamed on the previous occupants of the room however the cleaner was observed smoking right outside the rooms so doubtful that it’s just the clientele’s fault. Will seek alternate accomodation when next in this area.

Basic stay, affordable but needs more service

Bed was comfortable enough and room very basic. Cutlery and utensils were dirty which was unfortunate and the shower gel was empty. Wifi couldn’t stream content in our room either. Overall very basic but affordable but a little more attention to detail would’ve been appreciated.

The building is fine and the people seemed nice, making this hotel similar to others like it in Queanbeyan. The little restaurant served a decent and reasonably-priced breakfast. However, in a 3-night stay we had no room service at all - the bins weren't even emptied in that time, and eventually we had to ask for some more toilet paper. The bathroom didn't seem to have been cleaned before our arrival, and we had to remove a dirty bath mat and rinse the bathtub before taking a shower. The fridge needed defrosting and the ice was becoming brown. These aren't huge problems but they were disappointing, and generally we'd expect more from similar hotels.
