Good enough but not the best

We've been travelling a lot in western New York since November. While this was a nice hotel, the shower could've been a lot cleaner. There was too much hair stuck to the shower curtain and we were disappointed there was no eggs and protein at breakfast. The counters in the bathroom offered very little storage. Otherwise, it was comfortable and we had a pleasant stay. I would've rated this place much higher if it weren't for those two issues.

Good motel, horrible manager

Everything was very good until after we checked out and were on the road. We received a call from the manager, Mary Ann. She said our record showed that we had requested an extra pillow but that it was not in the room. I said that we never requested or received an extra pillow and that it must be an error. She said, “So you’re accusing my employee of being a liar.” I said, “No. just that someone made an error.” She refused to believe that we did not request then steal a pillow. She was rude and unprofessional, and completely off base with her accusations and completely unwilling to accept that we were telling the truth. We called Wyndham corporate to lodge a complaint and will not pay for the supposedly stolen pillow. And while the overall stay was fine - including the our interaction with the employee who erroneously put an extra pillow on our account - we will not ever be staying at this location again.

Needs one tweak to be great for the money

Everything was good, the place was pristine. The only problem we had was with the blankets, or lack of them. Beds were furnished with a sheet and a so thin you could see through it "comforter". We actually tired to book here again and were going to bring out our blankets but there wasn't availability due to a cheerleading competition in town.

Enjoyable hotel with minor issues

While I did enjoy my night at Microtel and would definitely recommend it, there are a few minor grievances that I have. The first one was that I felt that our room had the lingering spell of cigarette smoke, despite being a non-smoking hotel. We kept our room window open for a few hours in the afternoon and it seemed to alleviate the smell, so we thought all was good. However, upon getting ready the next morning, we noticed the smell came back. It’s definitely something that should be looked into. The second one, and it’s a bit more minor, is that the hotel had zero non-dairy alternatives for milk, which greatly limited what was available for breakfast for those of us, like me, with dairy allergies. For how new the property is, this seems like a very weird omission to have. Otherwise, we greatly enjoyed the stay. If we are in Binghamton again, we will likely stay here again.
