The staff were all incredibly kind and helpful. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The scarlet macaws and howler monkeys were so fun to watch in the morning right outside of our rooms! The food was delicious, especially the pizzas. I would highly recommend this hotel! Unless you’re at Carara National park at dusk or dawn, you’re going to see way more parrots at this hotel.

Das Zimmer war zweckmäßig mit allem nötigsten ausgestattet. Das Hotel besticht vor allem durch seine Lage im Dschungel und die tolle Anlage- hier fühlt man sich richtig wohl und in Costa Rica angekommen. Der Blick beim leckeren, landestypischen Frühstück ist ein Traum. Ein weiteres Highlight ist die unglaublich leckere Pizza - eine der besten Pizzen, die wir je gegessen haben (und das als Europäer). Wenn man Glück hat sieht man neben Legunanen auch Aras in den Bäumen der Anlage. Perfekter Ausgangspunkt für Tarcoles, den Carara Nationalpark und auf dem Weg nach Manuel Antonio bzw. in den Süden.

I loved our stay. The only reason we gave the resort four stars instead of five is because the room simple but clean. The hotel is rustic, but if you want to see wildlife, there is nothing better. Troops of Howler monkeys fill the trees above. Birds are continually chattering and screeching to one another. Just sitting at the restaurant, you will see more animals than walking for hours at the national park The food at the restaurant was excellent. I particularly enjoyed their award-winning pizza. I would definitely go back again. Great value for the experience.

We absolutely loved staying at Cerro lodge. We were staying in this area of Costa Rica for a few days to see Scarlet Macaws and other birds. After arriving in the afternoon, we saw macaws, a motmot and howler monkeys in the trees right next to the restaurant from their deck. Loved eating meals or just having drinks on that deck as we were always seeing something. Meals were delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable. It was nice to have air conditioning. There is a trail on the property to walk around. The pool is wonderful. The staff is so helpful and friendly. They arranged a boat tour to see crocodiles and shore birds which was a great tour.
