We stayed for 1 night, room was ok had every thing we needed, wee bit dated, bar is a lovely space indoor and outdoor unfortunately don’t do food in the evening but we were fortunate they had a pizza night serving pizzas from 4 - 7pm, pizzas were delicious along with a few ciders and wine😀👍

Lovely quaint location. Cafe and bar were cozy and welcoming. Staff were lovely helpful and friendly. Very dog friendly too. Pizza made on site was the best ive ever tasted! Room was a little tired but comfortable. Could have been cleaner. But comfortable. The guest lounge was comfortable and well equipped. Clean fresh towels and bedding. Would recommend.

Great weekend getaway

Great hosts, beautiful location. The accommodation is a fantastic conversion and the rooms are very nice. Free Breakfast is handy if you want something quick or if you’re willing to go spend some money in the cafe I’d recommend it as the food and atmosphere is lovely.

What a fantastic jewel of a find! Gareth & his staff were so welcoming. Our room was one of the smaller ones but spotless & all we needed for 2 nights, with a great fancy, modern en suite shower. Outside caterers on the Friday night provided fantastic food & the Wee Bear Cafe provides superb home made fayre during the day. Would definitely recommend this wonderful place to stay.

No fry up breakfast but otherwise ok.

Nice lodge, spacious family room. Very quiet location. Only disappointment is Hotels.com advertised it as providing full breakfast but basically you were given access to a communal kitchen where cereal, toast, jam, juice cartons and some fruits were self service. We didn't mind so much but others who are expecting a proper fry up breakfast may be dissatisfied.

Lots of parking , good WiFi and quiet . Lovely location but just needs a bit more attention . I was the only customer and the cleaner wizzed in before I arrived sadly not actually cleaning or removing rubbish from communal area . The bin in the kitchen was full and should have been emptied prior to my arrival . The radiator in my room didn’t work and although there was an oil filled radiator it’s not ideal in a small room due to risk of hitting yourself on it. I couldn’t find a hair dryer when I needed it on the morning of departure. The help yourself breakfast was ok although I’m not keen on using opened milk as you’re not certain how it’s been dealt with previously especially when it’s up on the day . I couldn’t see any drying cloths so had to leave items to drain as had previous occupant.

Nice place. Lovely cafe adjacent.

Spoke to Lodge beforehand as we were turnng up very late. All very accomodating. Bed felt as though it was sloping down and my husband felt he was about to fall off when turning over. Other than that the room wasvery comfortable and certaiyvadequate for what we were after. Breakfast is basic cereals, coffee, tea and toast available on a DIY basis in guest kitchen lounge area. Although Wee Bear Cafe is available for foid etc after 1000, which is after check out at 0930.

Great room mix up with details on website

There was a mix up between the website and the lodge. Check in is 4pm on wards. Checkout is 9.30 not 11am. No full breakfast only self service breakfast and access to some items. Location is beautiful, relaxing and quiet. Gareth is lovely and friendly and helpful. Room was the small room but perfect for what we needed. We had a lovely staff. Explained to Gareth the mix up with hotels.com and said worth checking the details.

Lovely location. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast included was a help yourself in a self service galley kitchen. Difficult when everyone has to be out at 10am. Four different couples all trying to get in to as small. I can definitely recommend the Wandering Bear Cafe. The food is amazing and the staff are very friendly. Great atmosphere. The manager has recently taken over, is fully aware of issues, therefore it's a work in progress and he welcomes feed back. We arrived at a difficult time. Congratulations on your new baby. We look forward to seeing the progress and would stay again.

The cafe was lovely. I think it was little misleading both the pics on this site made it feel like more of a self catering set up where as it’s an older fashioned basic room with shared access to a living space with a more modern kitchenette. When it says including breakfast we assumed that meant in the lovely cafe downstairs, hence why we booked it but it doesn’t. It means there is some basic cereal and a loaf of bread with instant coffee in the kitchenette, I didn’t expect 5 stars for the price but I do think more clarity on what is being offered for the price. Area is lovely and loch is nice to walk around. Would definitely go back to the cafe but wouldn’t stay here again

We had a lovely stay but breakfast was inconsistent. The second day we were left with mouldy bread or cereal. We were fine with cereal but choice was limited. Previous day we managed some delightful croissants. Parking was random - there are no dedicated spaces for residents so you take your chance. Room was comfy and clean enough. I would visit again though
