We had inadvertently booked half board for our one night stay but already had a restaurant booked. I rang the day before to ask if we could have lunch instead and was told yes. On check in, when I asked about having lunch I was told it’s not possible. I asked them to check with the manager as I had already been told yes and it was too late to cancel the restaurant. Still it was no, the ladies on reception had no interest in helping. We asked to speak to the manager or duty manager and were told there wasn’t one which is a ridiculous statement. They wouldn’t let us speak with him/her on the phone so we’d asked for them to call me before 2pm as one of our party is diabetic and needed to eat. No call was received so we ended up paying for lunch outside the hotel and lost the half board.
In the evening at my request, the male receptionists did manage to offer us free drinks in compensation and were at least apologetic unlike the female receptionists.
Overall there was no interest, and we were told repeatedly that it was be abuse we booked via Expedia so they can’t alter anything which is nonsense.
We’ve been to this hotel many times before but it’s changed, they now charge €15 for the car park, €3 for pool towels, a fee to use the room safe, we won’t be returning
