Needs an update

Staff were excellent and the room was clean, but the room could have been rented out as a sweat lodge. The property is tired and outdated. No A/C and our room was roasting with only a fan to cool it. We pulled the curtains shut when we left because the sun was beating in but when we returned the room was hot. We tried to get a through draft by opening the hall door and the front door but that did little other than make us feel as though we were in a fish bowl exposed to the world. The chairs were also really uncomfortable and the kitchen looks like it came from the 1950s. A serious renovation is needed.

Great little spacious motel unit very close to Nelson city. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was great! Lovely owners who were very helpful. My unit was right on the main road and I had a lovely leafy outlook from the windows and sliding door, but did have a lot of street noise and people walking past. However that was not a problem at all at night time and did not affect me sleeping. Was really happy with this motel!

We enjoyed our stay at the Admirals Motor Inn. We were warmly welcomed and everything was clean and tidy. Fraser was most helpful and this is a great place to stay after walking the Abel Tasman. t The walk to the city centre was an easy walk with Great food and friendly people. Loved our stay in sunny Nelson

Thank you Fraser and Kelly, thoroughly enjoyed my stay. These two take immense pride in their facility and their guests' happiness. The Admirals is a lovely facility in close proximity and walking distance to the city centre, greenspace and quiet neighbourhoods. A quick bus ride gets you to beautiful Tahunanui Beach area. Easy to get to Abel Tasman National Park or stay in Nelson and experience a nice 30 min. hike to Centre of New Zealand. Great restaurants, cafes and retail shops. Beautiful area. Will definitely be back to Nelson.

Loved our stay and will be happy to rebook

Admirals Motor Inn is not a new building but it appears to have been recently refurbished. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and showed us to our room. There are no lifts, just stairs as befitting the older style. We had an upstairs 2 bedroom appartment which faced into the parking area. It was clean, comfortable, roomy and perfect for us, with a room upstairs our grandchildren. They were pretty stoked to have the upstairs bedroom. The bathroom was a good size and had a separate toilet. The only thing is the shower is fixed to the wall, not a slide shower and it is a bit low for taller people. The kitchen would be great if we were staying longer as it had a good sized kitchenette. Not just a jug on the bench. We would be very happy to rebook for our next visit to Nelson.

Fantastic place to stay

Lovely and very clean looks newly painted. Hosts Frazier could not be more helpful and obliging, cleaning ladies were fantastic. All credit to their profession and personality. No wonder the motel is nearly always fully booked. Would recommend.
