Fine for Lone Pine

Trails was a motel, a decent place to stay while in Lone Pine. Everything worked in the room and it was clean enough. Staff was efficient, neither really friendly nor unfriendly. The price was good.

Good choice for Lone Pine

Pros - hotel was clean, check in was easy, it's next door to the movie museum and there are restaurants within a quarter mile walk. I rated it one step below excellent for two reasons. First, there is limited parking on the property. Most if not all of the spots were filled by 5 or 6 PM so late arrivers had to park in a small area further from the rooms. Second, the metal clothes hangers can't be removed from the hanger rod and extend into the path to the sink and bathroom. I'm 5 foot 6 and got hit in the face by them whenever there were no clothes on the hangers.

Convenient location

While parking lot, easy to get to. Appreciated laundry service. Purchased laundry soap, etc. on site. Quiet. We played music in the corner and enjoyed meeting our neighbors. No housekeeping, which was ok. Convenient location for everything we wanted to do.

WiFi did not work, pool was closed, it would have been nice to have coffee in lobby. Overall a nice revamped old motel, the bed was very unstable and wiggly with partner .

Nice location!

Lone Pine has few accommodations, all are motels. From those, I think this property is the best. Very nice and clean rooms. The rooms look recently remodeled. It is next to McDonald's and the Western Museum. Nice location!

Horrible Smell

The room smelled terrible! There was some sort of air freshener or perfume used to cover up the out gassing of the flooring. We had to leave the window and door open for a long time and it still smelled horribly. The chair was torn and the hair dryer did not work. I will never come here again!

Everytime was clean and people were nice to me. The signal on the tv went out, but i was leaving anyway so it didnt matter to me. The staff is very welcoming. It was my 3rd or 4th stsy there. The price is reasonable.

Happy Trails

No frills. Just a basic, old school motel room in an old school motor court in an old school small desert town. So if you don’t like old school, take a hint. Super clean. Easy access. Comfy bed with decent pillows. Better than average toilet paper. TV worked. Coffee in room (tho only styrofoam cups - no mugs). Very quiet at night. Great view of the Eastern Sierras. If you’re looking for a bougie, five star experience with designer this and that and amenities up the wazoo and ceramic coffee mugs, you better move on. But if you want a clean place to start adventures of Mt Whitney, the Alabama Hills, Death Valley, and all places in between? If you want a pre-bougie motor in experience? If you want a great value? The Trails is your place.
