This place is a perfect location as it’s right at the trailhead. As a mountain biker who sleeps poorly while camping this is one of my fave places to stay when coming to ride in the area. It’s close enough to town to get a bite to eat, but far enough that it feels like the middle of nowhere. Big rooms, outdoor patios, and free home cooked breakfast keep me coming back every year.

We had a wonderful stay at Harmony Ridge Lodge! The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to truly relax. The wooded property is absolutely beautiful. It was peaceful, quiet, and perfect for a nature-filled getaway. The complimentary breakfast was amazing and clearly made with care, a highlight of our morning. We also loved that the lodge is pet-friendly, which made traveling with our dog stress-free. Melissa was awesome! We would absolutely return and highly recommend Harmony Ridge Lodge to anyone visiting Nevada City.

Breakfast could be better. Never saw the manager. The soft boiled eggs only egg option were not soft boiled. Clear yokk still. Potatoes cold. No water dispenser. Called manager iI was told only eggs prepared on the weekend. Had to micrwave my eggs after figuring to where the toaster and microwave were behind the counter. I was handling things to the point another guest gave me their room because they thought I worked there. Helped others on what was going on.

We booked the top floor because it has that attic, Harry Potter feeling. OMG! It is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The room is so beautiful. We felt like we were living in Harry Potter's house, minus where Harry really lived in. Our only wish is that we can live in a place like this permanently. Our kids loved it. It really has that Precious Moments cottage feeling. For me, it really reminded me of the hostel we stayed in Frankfurt, Germany and Britain. The couple that are engaged and working there, are so friendly and welcoming. We will never forget their kind hospitality. We'll be back here.

Paradise in the woods!!

The lodge is located in the forest! We enjoyed the trail right next to the highway that is easy and meanders through the woods! The breakfast is more than a continental one with hot eggs potatoes and sausage. My room was upstairs with sumptuous king bed but no TV. My other party had our dog in a pet friendly room with two queens. His room had jacuzzi tub; mine just had shower. Overall great property!!

There was everything to love about the property. We stayed during the week. It was SO peaceful. The grounds are beautiful, stunning! Many areas throughout the property to sit and relax, both inside and outside. The breakfast in the morning was freshly made and very tasty! A nice frittata, one veggie and one with meat, plus fresh fruit, quite yummy! There were only 4 of us, but they had conversation pits that could easily accommodate 8-12 people. The staff was so friendly and showed us everything. The room was large and well-appointed. We walked down to the only close restaurant and had dinner. The market closes at 8 pm If you need anything . We were there at the end of June 2025. The lake is only 0.3 miles away but we didn't go as we were here for only 1 day. We won't make that mistake again!

Antiquing trip with my daughter. Booked this as it is theoretically near Grass Valley or Nevada City. Not very close to either. Note: NO ELEVATOR OR TELEVISION. We didn’t stay for breakfast but heard it was good. Our key was taped to the front door when we arrived at 3:15pm. Lobby not open. We won’t stay again but a family or a wedding group might enjoy. There is a restaurant nearby but it is open Thursday thru Monday and you are out in the forest with no other restaurant. We arrived on a Tuesday unprepared. We had some snacks so we didn’t suffer. No landline in the room with which to communicate with the front desk. Very different place in a remote area next to Tahoe National Forest. Beware of bears - it is in the forest.
