I highly recommend this dog-friendly Inn.

I love this place and will definitely stay there again.The rooms are very nice, very comfortable and a great value. The host/concierge was so helpful and friendly, I really felt at home there. They were fully booked, yet the rooms were quiet and the other guests I met were also nice dog owners. On one walk, I met some nice people who said they usually stay at the Gualala Country Inn, but they were already full; they also plan to stay there again. The Inn is situated on the edge of town so everything is convenient but quiet. I highly recommend this dog-friendly Inn.

Nice stay across the street from the ocean

We spent 1 night here with our 2 kids & 2 dogs. All 6 of us fit in the room just fine for our stay. We were on the bottom floor which made it easy to take the dogs out to potty as needed. At check-in, we were given 2 bottles of water & a bag of homemade dog treats. Our dogs LOVED the treats. We walked across the parking lot to the pizza place for dinner & to the grocery store for some supplies. The view from our room was pretty - we could see the ocean right from our room. The room was cozy. My only criticisms would be that (1) the TV was a little tricky to get working, but we eventually figured it out, and (2) the headboards hit the wall when you moved in bed which was loud in the middle of the night - maybe some padding behind them would keep things quieter. Overall, we were happy with our room, location, and our single night stay, and we would stay here again.

The drive up Highway 1 to reach the inn was nothing short of spectacular—winding roads, dramatic ocean views, and forested stretches made the journey part of the experience. Once we arrived, we were immediately struck by the natural beauty surrounding the property. Deer wandered through the grounds, birds fluttered in the trees, and the overall serenity was exactly what we had hoped for. Our room was clean, comfortable, and remarkably quiet—ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring. The rustic charm of the inn blended well with the peaceful coastal atmosphere, and we appreciated the simple, cozy accommodations. However, we were genuinely disappointed to learn that breakfast is no longer offered. One of the deciding factors in booking the Gualala Country Inn was the advertised breakfast, and its absence was an unexpected letdown. It’s worth noting for future travelers, especially those arriving late or unfamiliar with the limited nearby dining options. Despite that one drawback, the stay was still a lovely retreat into nature. With the right expectations, Gualala Country Inn offers a restful escape surrounded by scenic beauty and abundant wildlife.
