Located by the bigger road. You hear everything in to the room. Small room and tiny bathroom. It smells a lot of sulfur from the shower, naturally so nothing they can do anything about.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans cette guesthouse. L'établissement ne paye pas de mine de l'extérieur et les parties communes (salon) sont très très old school, pour ne pas dire vraiment vieillottes. La chambre est plus moderne mais les lits étaient plus petits que la normale (140 cm ?), les draps étaient tout chiffonnés et les oreillers étaient très très mous. Le rideau de douche est trop court et on met de l'eau partout. La vue donnait sur un chantier. Il y avait des rideaux occultants mais un masque de nuit est quand même indispensable si vous aimez dormir dans le noir. Bref, ce ne fut pas une super expérience... malgré la sympathie de la personne à l'accueil.

I booked this place because of the breakfast only to find out after booking it that there was no breakfast in the winter. Check in is at the bar and the rooms are up stairs. The room was clean and small. I got a single. The water smells of sulfur. These things happen. There isn’t anything close by so I had dinner in Hvammstangi.

This was a good stop on the ring road when there are not many options in the north. Room was clean, cozy comfortable and adequate. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. Breakfast was greatly appreciated, but there was not as many options as other hotels we had stayed at previously. Overall a good choice for a one-night stay.

I liked that it had a restaurant and close to the road. I don’t like that it was hard to get luggage up to room and the beds were very uncomfortable.

The place was a bit rustic, but we enjoyed our stay. The attached restaurant was good and served a simple but nice breakfast. The hot water in the bathroom gave off a sulfur odor due to - I think - geothermal heating. Overall, though, I would not hesitate to stay here again.
