The seemingly overworked staff at reception were extremely slow. The Mecure is quite a way out of Nagano, it wouldn't be a choice of ours to stay there again because of the amount of buse tours that have priority at the restaurant over those staying at the resort.

Check in Staff- Ms Hiro.. She made the check in experience very wonderful.. she was really detailed with the breakfast & dinner booking. Definitely must go for the half board option! Dinner menu is the same in all our 4 nights stay.. Careful of the lady on 3/F guarding the Onsen, she is a little angry Grandma style.. but very necessary to ensure safety and order.

A disappointing experience. Some positives. The rooms are spacious but tired. Some of the staff are hospitable but others treat you like a child on a school camp. The hotel is tired- stained furniture and vet hard beds. Breakfast was nice once you got through the school camp like military set up - I appreciate they have a lot of guests but this is unnecessary. I did not eat dinner as Theo nul choice is an extremely expensive buffet. The supermarket across the road has good bento boxes. Top marks for the lovely shuttle drivers - it’s a 30 minute run into the city and the shuttle is great and such nice staff there.
