The property was misrepresented on the Expedia website. It looks like a 1950s 2-story motel, with all room doors opening to the parking lot. 20 min drive to decent food in DeFuniak Springs. The “rating” online had to be from paid shills. The only thing we liked was that the rooms were clean and didn’t have any odor. And, it was very quiet, probably because there were few guests. I paid $90 with tax?!! I could have/would have stayed in DeFuniak for $20 more were it not for the high guest rating posted on this property.

The owners were extremely nice, the room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Two things to note, however: (1) The couple of local places to eat closed earlier than when we arrived at 5:15 on Sunday. We had to drive about 10 minutes to another exit to get food. So if you need to eat, you may want to stop before you arrive at the motel. (2) There were no grips on the floor of the tub/shower and no grab bars. We feared slipping getting in and out of the shower. Other than that we had a nice experience.

We have stayed a few times at this motel when traveling to Florida. Its quiet and a family run place. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and well worth it if you have food with you (we had leftovers that we could heat up in the microwave and milk for our morning coffee). My only concern was being charged for using a credit card. The amount was nominal and they have a big sign, but nothing on the Hotels.com site, since you have to pay on property.
