Easter Break in Avalon

We loved this place. I gave it 5 stars all around considering this is perhaps the oldest hotel in Avalon built in 1910. So, don't expect the Four Seasons with granite and crystal champagne flutes. It is old, and it leans, this is about the experience, not the amenities. It is a very well taken care of hotel with great charm. The hosts were extremely nice as were all the other guests. There is the only Von's on the island very nearby, and it is a one minute walk to all the restaurants and shops. Our room had a great view of the city and harbour. My 17 year old daughter loved it. We will come back for sure.

I ordered and paid for a room(s) that slept 4 so we had a bit of space. We got a room that slept 3. The shower/toilet was absolutely tiny. The kitchen was tiny with a range that had 2 working burners. The third burner was right up against the wall so we did not dare to use that. We felt the floor was going to fall off the side, it sloped so badly. The place was clean, though. There was one cleaning sponge that was very old so we did not use that.

Nice, quiet place in the heart of Avalon. Three minute walk to the harbor and five minute walk to the golf course. There is a Vons within a minute walk for all your supplies. Room number 14 is amazing with a full kitchen and a private balcony overlooking the town with an ocean view. The hotel staff are very friendly and accomodating.

Quaint and Cozy

My partner and I stayed here for a quick weekend getaway, and we loved it. It's so quaint and quiet. It is a perfect short walking distance from the local shops, port of Avalon, and grocery store. The decor was so homey and comfortable, it felt so warm being there. The best part, was that it was tucked away from the busy part of Catalina, so it was so quiet and private. It was perfect for us. the owners were also so kind, and wished us well when we left. Perfect way to recharge. They also spoke Spanish so its great for Spanish speakers. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for having us.

Quiet, comfortable, great value for the price

I felt right at home. With bedroom, kitchen, private bath, and closet, I settled right in. Good water pressure, hair dryer, iron, kitchen utensils, and all the supplies I needed. Hot water came quickly, good water pressure. The staff and owner were friendly, helpful, and kind. I highly recommend this hotel. It's not on front street so was quiet. Only concern is steps up to the rooms, but it was fine for me.
