Will return again but must book parking space

No mirror in room for my wife to view blow drying her hair. We had excellent view of sea from our room. Evening meal service was friendly and attentive. Bar service was slow but the barman was very helpful and informative. Overall not unhappy with our one night stay. Reception was very friendly and helpful.

Et hotell som trenger renovering. Vårt rom hadde dårlig vedlikehold, varmt vann var vanskelig å få - tok lang tid. Synlige vannskader i fellesområder. Frokosten var kjedelig og helt basic. Lite vennlighet i resepsjonen. Samlet sett så ga hotellet oss en svært dårlig opplevelse. Location var god.

Pay for the view

The room we had had an amazing view. The hotel seemed to be in quite a run down condition our room was quite run down and in poor condition really not matching the photos provided on the booking profile. Overall not that impressed. However the sea view room view made it better.

Old, dated & very poor

This hotel belongs in the 1970’s as it has not moved beyond that. The only thing positive about this hotel is the location, especially when you have booked a sea view room. It is old, dated and the hotel should feel embarrassed charging what they charge for rooms. I’ve seen many reviews since I stayed here so they should be very aware of the feedback they receive. Never ever again will I stay here.

Cold showers!

We booked 3 rooms for a family wedding. Checked in by a lovely lady at reception. Rooms were dated but clean enough. The next morning we reported at 8.30am that none of us had any hot water. We were told an engineer would be half an hour. We explained we had a wedding today so needed it to be sorted. Went for breakfast (not great) . An hour later we were told he was on his way so we took the dogs out and asked if still no hot water in our rooms, could they please give us a room to use. Came back , no hot water or room available. No clue of when the engineer/plumber may turn up. So we all had cold showers, not fun when you have long hair to wash. Got ready for the wedding and started to leave. Where we were informed the plumber had finally turned up! 6 hours after we reported it. The most frustrating thing was being told he was half an hour away, to he’s on his way, to we haven’t got a clue. The manager didn’t seem to care we had a wedding to get too! We understand that things go wrong- ie the fire alarm going off twice in the night and the boiler breaking. But a quicker back up plan should be in place for a hotel that size. On departure there was another couple reporting they had no hot water….

Not so Great Western

Room not ready at 16:00. 17:30 given key and previous guests laundry on the floor in the middle of the room. Receptionist came down 10 mins later into the bar area with sheets tucked under her arm. “That’s you eh”. Not a word of apology or even an offer of a drink on the house. Very expensive for somewhere that is really a coach tour venue. Breakfast well below average quality wise. Do they care? They do not. Plenty more coming along after us. Stay again. Not at those prices.

Shocking. Hotel is barely in working condition. In desperate need of a renovation. Room had flickering lights and random switches that did nothing. Lamps didn’t work. At 0130 woken by a faulty fire alarm.. again at 0230. We left at 0235.. I’ll be requesting a refund.

Great value for a lovely friendly hotel

It was a great stay here. The beds are really comfortable and the rooms very spacious. We had a sea view which was lovely to wake up to. The staff were brilliant, friendly and very helpful. Only downside was the shower was always cold. The staff tried to fix the pressure right away. However, everything else was great

Good Dog Friendly Hotel

Nice place to stay at, very happy that it was dog friendly. All i would say is that if the windows were updated and the bed was slightly bigger then i would have rated higher. I will be back though.

Not so Great

Sea view room but had to stuff toilet paper in windows to try keep draft out which it didnt. Bathroom heater did not work. Carpet was stained and dog hair ended up all over our clothes Could smell dog when i lay on the bed. Not sure if it was off the carpet tho. This hotel would be lovely if it was revamped. Asked about Gluten free breakfast but all food was cooked and put together ie bacon was in with sausages and potato scone was in with tomato. We were told these were gluten free but if your not gluten free you dont understand or maybe you should read up on gluten free.
