We want to return

First of all, we really enjoyed staying at Taumeasina Resort, and hope to return in the future. We were very impressed by the clever layout of the modern room, the comfort, the nice views and strong air-conditioning control. The included breakfasts were excellent. There is very good snorkeling just off the resorts beach - one highlight was coming across a sea turtle during one snorkeling trip. The airport transfers were also well run and made the holiday that much easier. A number of staff stood out to us - Dani and Shaun from the Activities Team (helpful advice, welcoming, and flax weaving skills), and also the kind and caring Faanati from Housekeeping. Some small negatives. The buffet dinners were mixed quality, and the bar did not work that well when we tried to visit it (slow to order, hard to pay afterwards). While the cleaning staff always left the room _very_ clean, sometimes a range of towels/bathmats/hand towels/face clothes would disappear and not be replaced. Although this was quickly fixed with a phone call each time. Have recommended Taumeasina to friends, would like to return for another relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Beautiful resort

The resort was beautiful, well set out, well maintained and clean. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived even though it was after the official check in time. We did get a welcome lei and drink of lemon juice which was nice but I was surprised the room wasn’t ready and we weren’t the only guests impacted. The staff were friendly but not always as attentive as what I expected. We didn’t order dessert on night 1 because no one came back to check/ask and on day 2 we ordered drinks which I had to go chase up because they didn’t arrive. I thought they may have offered a discount or free drink due to the inconvenience but they didn’t. We were given no instructions or details about the included breakfast so was unsure how it all worked. The room was clean and comfortable with great views to the ocean. They didn’t give us a new floor towel when they serviced the room but the bathroom was big and spacious. The resort catered well for families but for us it was probably a bit too noisy and busy. We liked the resort but preferred the quieter resort we stayed at earlier in the trip.

My stay

The day was excellent amenities. The food location were excellent. My only two negative comments. Are the rooms need a little TLC such as new mattress and new drapery window cover but rather than that it was great. The other is the phone number when you’re calling from the US even using the country code, you cannot get through at 800 number would be great.

Wonderful

It was amazing. Service was good depending who you deal with. Some staff are amazing with their excellent service and some not. Rooms were comfy, just minor things like cleaning, there was a lot of mould around the shower areas, thick dust on top shelf of closet. But other than that we enjoyed our stay and will definitely go back. These minor things won’t stop me from going back.

Taumeasina was amazing. Gutted we planned prior and decided to stay at Taumeasina for 10 days then finish off the holiday at Sheraton. We regretted it we loved taumeasina the people service everything. We will be booking taumeasina for all future holidays in samoa

What I enjoyed about Taumeasina was the family orientated environment. Good vibes at the bar and great place to just chill. What I did not enjoy was a handful of female customer service skills. Ladies behind the desk and on the floor were rude and gave attitude a lot. You would ask them a question and they will walk away and come back and answer you. Or the way they would respond over the counter was rude and the tone they use and the rolling of the eyes. Had no issues with the males. They were nice and always had a smile on their faces. Housekeeping was a 2 star. Had to call about 3 times throughout the day for plates and cups to be collected, for beds to be changed and made up. Rubbish to be taken and towels too. Had to also walk over to reception to request for toilet paper as no one came over and delivered any. Also a few of the nights there were 3 male performers and a lot of the dancers were doing inappropriate dancing while children were present. And lastly, we wanted to extend our stay there for one night. They kept changing their prices, communication skills from the manager and his staff were all over the place. They were all giving different prices until we spoke with the GM and he managed to sort it out right away. Otherwise great place to stay, just need to work on a few major things which will help with future bookings.

Almost tripped stepping out of the building with a one inch lip. Not clearly visible. Parking left something to be desired. Visitors take up the parking spaces and left the guests with out parking. On our way out the cleaning crew were just camping outside my room and no one offered to carry anything to my car that was parked further away from my room. Otherwise, good food options and more should be done with vegetarian and vegan food options. You don’t have good options
