Everything was absolutely amazing and beautiful. The inn keeper was so communicative and made sure she gave us the history of the property while we ate our delicious breakfast. I wouldn’t have changed a thing and am beyond happy I chose Four Mounds over any mainstream hotel.

Gem of a find.

What an amazing find! Beautiful property, well maintained and wonderful breakfast. The history of Four Mounds is worth looking into if you are planning a stay there - although you will have plenty of opportunity to find out the history. What was originally built as a gentleman’s farm during the Industrial Revolution has become a well preserved ecosystem with well maintained buildings. Four Mounds was donated to Dubuque by one of the last surviving original owners and has become a foundation that is well known to Dubuque residents. Even if you don’t care about the history - it’s a beautiful and peaceful place to stay with an amazing breakfast. Despite the seclusion, you are close to everything Dubuque has to offer.

The property is quite nice! We had one issue when arriving as another couple had locked the main entrance into the house. We waited outside for about 15 minutes before the owner unlocked the door.

Hidden gem

Lovely historic bed and breakfast. It has a contactless check in. It is very quiet and private. Wonderful breakfast featuring mushrooms foraged on the property. There's a one lane driveway, so you need to be a little cautious.

Four Mounds is a lovely B&B in a quiet and scenic location. The home is expertly maintained. Staff is available on an as needed basis but otherwise you are left to enjoy this beautiful place on your own.

This has to be the most incredible place on earth! Loved visiting with Candence while there and the 4 HUGE turkeys, beautiful buck, so many birds! Cozy & Roomy! Our room was perfect. The bed was very comfy. The bathroom was fine, shower curtain wouldn’t stop blowing in and sticking to me, but it was fine. The breakfast was fantastic and Dee was delightful. We would absolutely stay again.
