If you are looking for 5-star amenities, this is not the place for you. If you want a great location, good price, and super friendly staff, this is it. We absolutely loved the charming and cozy ambiance here, with so many different types of art on the walls. A book exchange is in a nook on the second floor. Our room opened to the street below, which could be a bit noisy if you are not used to city sounds. The staff here are wonderful and provided excellent service - and dinner recommendations. Walk to Plaka and the Acropolis Museum in only a few short blocks. I would absolutely stay here again if I return to Athens.

Fourth floor View of the Acropolis

Super friendly staff learning a lot about the family and the history. The neighborhood had great restaurants, near by post office, grocery store, and pharmacy. There is a view of the Acropolis from the 4th floor balcony.

Very nice and cosy hotel. The owners were very nice, as well as the receptionists. There was a problem with the wifi in our floor, which was very inconvinient. Except this problem, we enjoined very much!

The hotel staff were great and very helpful. The AC in the room was great! It stayed very cold at night even though it was hot outside (we like the AC to be way down). The shower pressure was amazing. The force of the sprayer could take the paint off the wall. Which I love. The biggest issue of the hotel was the cleanliness. It didn't feel dirty until you got to the shower. The drain had mold. If the shower was cleaner, I would definitely stay here again.

Great restaurants nearby. Staff is great, gave great local info, extra pillows. Air conditioning is inadequate in summer heat, and cigarette smoke enters the rooms from nearby and lingers. We found a 4 star hotel for less money while we were there. Shop around.

We enjoyed our stay at the Art Gallery hotel. While the hotel is dated and could use updating, the value for money is quite good. The location is excellent - very walkable to the Acropolis and dining. The staff were pleasant and helpful with local recommendations. One minor complaint: one staff member liked to sit outside and smoke on the front steps, and the smoke wafted in and up to the corridor outside our room. All in all, I would recommend this for a budget hotel option in Athens.
