Service was great, staff were very friendly and helpful in every way. This is not a five star hotel so you get what you pay for, we just needed a place to sleep and were quite happy, nothing to complain about. It's located right near Omonia Square where you will find shopping and restaurants. Just a few minutes walk to the Central Market. The walk to Syntagma square is only about 15 mins but it will take much longer because of all the shops you'll find along the way. Will definitely stay here again when I return.

Decent stay in Athens …
3 night trip to Athens , booked it because it was close to Subway. The neighbourhood is not to most glamorous in the city but it’s doable. Room was clean and the hotel was good none the less.

Cheap and OK
You got what you pay for..
A cheap hotel and if you only need a place with a bed and bathroom (that was clean!) for one night, this is good enough..
But don’t expect this to be a luxury place..

Great! The only reason from I dont give a 10 it’s because the bed was a bit old and noisy. In general very good

Ares Athens Hotel provided a mostly comfortable stay for my friend and I this weekend. The beds were a little hard, but from the amount we walked everyday, we fell right asleep every night. The rooms were mostly clean except for finding hairs on the sheets and on the blankets. The location, although a little sketchy at night, was a very short walk to all of the tourist attractions and very good food. The cleaning service was great and the staff was very friendly. Definitely would recommend if you’re on a budget.

Good location for walking to see the sights. Nothing fancies about the hotel. It is clean and had a nice balcony that if you lean out, you can see the fountain of Omonoia.

Would not pay more than 30 eur for room here...
This hotel is in a shockingly poor state and clearly neglected. No effort has been made to keep it in good condition. The rooms smelled unpleasant and had zero sound insulation — the noise from the busy street outside was unbearable all night. We found exposed electrical cables in the bathroom covered with sellotape, and a broken bedside nightlight with exposed wires — both serious safety hazards. The shower was also leaking. Charging €90 per night for such conditions is unacceptable. At €30, it might barely be tolerable, but at this price, it is a complete rip-off. Avoid.
