If you like a quiet room in an old style but modern bed & breakfast with a fabulous view, you will love The Belle Vue Boutique Lodge. Run by owners Steve and Liz, they just want to make you happy and comfortable to enjoy Taupo. We had a deck overlooking the lake, and enjoyed the complimentary charcuterie out there. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Beautiful home, Liz and Steve were great hosts. Perfect recommendations for dinner, awesome breakfast and great snacks provided while we enjoyed an evening on the balcony. Room 3's bed is a bit firm, but otherwise perfect.

Perfekter Ort zum entspannen

Wir wurden ganz herzlich empfangen und uns wurde alles gezeigt und erklärt. Das ganze Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt und hat einen sehr schönen Garten. Man hat auch tolle Sicht auf den See. Unser Zimmer war perfekt gereinigt. Das Frühstück ist ein Traum.

Quick overnight stay

Very pleasant surroundings, with great view. We brought our own “adult beverages”, but noticed it would have been nice if the prices of the wines optional to purchase had prices on them. Also we don’t do continental breakfast, my other half is a bacon and eggs man, so it would have been nice if that was an option at either a reduced rate or substitute a bottle of wine ;-) The cheese , crackers and fruit was nice as we usually bring our own, but had expected those after reading prior reviews. Had to call for directions as GPS said to turn left on a road that was just before the correct entrance. Liz was very helpful in steering us in the correct direction. Anything anyone may have wanted or forgotten was available, quite impressed by all the wee details. Even had milk in the fridge for my tea. If you do care for continental breakfast, it was between 07:30 -10:00. I routinely wake about 05:00 am, so hard not to make too much noise when other guests are sleeping. Enjoyable for a one night stay. Thanks, Steve and Liz

We really enjoyed our sty here. It was very informal and a very unique property. Very friendly, and breakfast was pleasant. complementary charcuterie board was a really nice touch. Great location overlooking the lake from an outside balcony. Lots to see, float planes taking off, parachute planes and free fallers at a distance, boat trips etc can be seen going along the lake. Not too far from town though absolutely need a vehicle. Highly recommended

The property is lovely, well appointed, with great views of the lake and gardens. We really enjoyed having wine and the charcuterie board on the balcony. Great way to start our stay. Steve was a super host and we were disappointed not to meet Liz. So many lovely extra touches, they really thought about every detail.

A really beautiful property, with lots of charm and stunning views from the rooms over Lake Taupo. Couldn't fault anything about this place, although the breakfast that a lot of people mention we weren't impressed by (basically toast, croissant and yoghurt; no eggs or anything cooked). Lovely place for a getaway and easy (10 mins drive) into Taupo.

We stayed at Steve and Liz's beautiful B & B for 7 nights while in Taupo for Ironman 70.3 World Championships. We loved the homey atmosphere and Liz and Steve could not have been more welcoming, gracious and helpful. From providing a secure place to store my bike to the welcome charcuterie plate to yummy breakfasts every morning to providing fresh towels and and an immaculate room daily, we really felt like Belle Vue was our home away from home. And the view of the lake from the balcony! Our hosts even made signs for the racers to wish them luck and welcome them back from the race and showed up on the sidelines to cheer us on! Can't recommend this home highly enough :-)

We absolutely loved our stay at Bellevue Lodge. Our hosts, Liz and Steve, were incredible. With their thoughtful gestures, they made our stay truly memorable. We were there for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships, and they were very accommodating given our schedule and special needs. We also had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful guests. Beware - Do not book this place

Beware of booking this property. Not friendly people. A couple run this place and we were running late for check in due to our flight that landed in Auckland later and some of our activities needed to be delayed because of that. We called them in the afternoon asking if it’s okay to come in later due to our delayed flight and activities and the lady said that’s fine, you can come in later in the night. The guy who runs this place later texts us in the evening saying - we cannot honor your reservation, don’t come. This was such last minute for us that we had difficulty finding reservation elsewhere. I would definitely recommend you never to book this place as the people who manage it are not professional, do not honor their words
