The staff at Hotel Klaekken was helpful and friendly. The pool was wonderful. We stayed for dinner and breakfast and the serving staff was friendly, and the breakfast was a typical continental style. The dinner was a short menu, but tasty. The rooms had comfortable beds and a few touches here and there of modern updates. We stayed here for 1 night in between flights at Oslo airport. Our kids liked the pool. We also explored the town and waterfall in nearby Honefoss and ate at the steakhouse which was also pretty good.

Terrible service at reception when arriving. Room was of a 1990 standard. The tyniest tv ever created with analog signal. No towels at room. Breakfast from 7 to 9, but all was cleaned away at 8:50

We had a fantastic one-night stay as part of our journey. While there wasn’t time to try out all the amenities, we did enjoy a quick swim in the pool, which was great after a long day on the road. The breakfast buffet was rich in variety and there was something for every taste. The staff was always nice, helpful and accommodating.

I stayed at this hotel recently and left with serious concerns about the overall experience. The hotel restaurant was the biggest problem. Service there was poor — our waiter was frequently absent and ended up forgetting part of our order. Things got worse when the food arrived: the burger I had ordered from the restaurant came out raw in the middle, cooked only on the outside. That night I became seriously ill, almost certainly food poisoning from the meal I'd eaten in the restaurant, and I ended up having to cancel a trip I'd planned for the following day as a direct result. On top of this, my interaction with the receptionist was unpleasant — she came across as unnecessarily authoritarian, which was the last thing I needed while already feeling unwell. Given the food safety failure in the restaurant and the unhelpful attitude at the front desk, I can't recommend this hotel.

Evacuation central!

Unfortunately when we stayed there were floods in the local town and the older folks evacuated to the hotel. No fault of the hotel of course and they did let us cut short our stay with no issues. The decor is dated but with improvements it could be a great place.

Unique hotel, but the staff need to be more customer service orientated. When we checked we were handed the key and no words came out of the mouth of the person who checked us in, we didn't know where to go to find our room. When I asked he pointed to a hall. We were also accosted by another worker when we were outside enjoying a drink in the garden area, she was very rude at first telling us we couldn't drink alcohol we brought, we had to buy it there. We didn't know there was a "rule" about it. Her attitude change when we apologized for not knowing and also let her know what a horrible experience we were having at their hotel. I wouldn't recommend this place to foreigners.

Hotellet ligger fint och har mycket att erbjuda. Kvällsmenyn erbjöd endast ett val per förrätt, huvudrätt och efterrätt där priset inte stod på menyn så det kan vara bra att fråga efter. Den aktuella kvällen serverades fisk till huvudrätt vilken var bra men också det enda jag beställde tillsammans med en öl. Norge har som bekant höga priser på mat men över 650kr för en fiskrätt med en öl är i mitt tycke lite väl mycket. Frukosten var bra och utbudet var helt tillräckligt. Trevlig personal och fint i matsalen vad gäller dukning mm så det var bra klass på det. Kan mycket väl tänka mig att bo där igen och i så fall ta med mig badkläder för att njuta lite av poolerna.

Oppholdet var greit, men totalt sett synes jeg det var dyrt i forhold til standarden. Hotellet fremsto litt slitt og kunne hatt et bedre vedlikehold. Prisene i restauranten var også altfor høye. Vi betalte 160 kr for to bittesmå skjeer med is – langt mindre enn man forventer til den prisen. I tillegg var det mye veps rundt bassenget, noe som trakk ned opplevelsen.
