If location is your #1 priority and you’re only staying for 1-2 nights, you can’t beat this place. It is bear-bones, though, tons of stairs (bathroom trip at night meant going down a lengthy staircase), no frig in the room and no info that there is a kitchen in the basement, and the check-in process (when using Hotels.com for getting a reservation) is awful, and the manager was shockingly rude. Loved the location. Not a lot else.

I am shocked how affordable this was as it's in the best part of Georgetown. The housekeeping staff are so sweet, the rooms were clean, and the kitchen was an amazing touch. Even though the canal was not filled during our stay, it was a so nice to look out on the trail and canal. My one critique is if you need to drop off your luggage, the lockers currently don't have keys to lock them.

Great location, close to everything you need in Georgetown. There are lockers in the kitchen but the only locker available was with a broken lock that we had to fix. The rooms are small but clean. Because it's a historic house, there's no sound isolation, so you can hear what's going on outside, however it wasn't too bad at night.

Kitchen is suitable for reheating easy meals, there's divided spaces in the fridge for each area. Room temp was fairly easy to manage, though did take a little time to adjust the temperature. Only issue I had was the hot water in the shower - water pressure is already abysmal, and the hot water did not last long at all on a night the place was fully booked. Husband didn't seem to have the same issue earlier in the week on a weeknight.

Georgetown House Inn is a very convenient and fun place to stay. But this time the only room left was #4 and it is immediately on the first floor abutting the sidewalk. The hotel has placed a table and two chairs just outside the window. Although there is a sign that says “for hotel guests only”, the chairs were occupied well past midnight for two consecutive nights with people drinking wine from the neighboring restaurant, sat waiting for Ubers, had long telephone conversations and worked on their computers. The choice was to not sleep or to confront inebriated strangers and ask them to continue chatting away from my window. If I ever see room 4 available again, I will stay clear.

The room was clean, although somewhat heavily scented with chemical cleaners. The bathroom was clean and functional. A big minus was the poor water pressure in the shower. It was a mere trickle and made taking a shower a nuisance rather than a pleasure. the bed was comfortable and nicely made up.
