8/10 Very good

Stay met our expectations- it was a cheap stay for one night and we were expecting basic accommodation. Everything was pretty clean and never had to wait to use a shared bathroom. Someone let us in straight away close to 3pm when we arrived. It's not the most quiet room but that didn't bother me. We mainly stayed here as it was good value and the associated restaurant is one of our favourites as former Norwich locals! Always amazing food and great service. The only issue was that the room was really hot and we got back too late at night to ask if anything could be done to change that- radiator was on full blast. Decent location for walking into town, nearby supermarkets and local spots including The Rose NR1, Ber Street Kitchen, Strangers coffee, and of course Namaste Village. Parking might be more challenging if you drive.

It's great value for the money, having to go to the bathrooms is a drag, especially if you've had a few drinks The bathrooms are clean The building well maintained Think there's 6 parking spaces, first come first served, but as it's a hotel with a restaurant next door, you would be lucky to get one Overnight parking is across the road, if you can work it all out, parking in Norwich is expensive Restaurant is only for Vegetarians Vegans

Handy for the city centre

Handy for the city centre. Ideal for one night. Great restaurant downstairs. Traffic noise the only downside and noise from other rooms, as walls thin. I can sleep on a washing line so no problem for me!

Lovely guy check in but room too noisy, next to main road cannot sleep, be very hot room no air con, single glazed windows so very loud and very bright room as no curtains, shared bathroom although very clean people walk there all night floorboards are loud bathroom is loud so keeps you awake. Not good for light sleepers or a need for quiet or dark.

2 night stay in family room.

Good location for the city centre and to visit daughter in Uni accommodation. En suite door had a window in it and didn’t close properly so not practical. Stains on bed and sofa and walls. Bedding looked clean however and towels nice and large and clean. Would be very disappointed if paid full price but as used Tesco vouchers only paid £38 for a two night stay in the family room.

Don't expect luxury

The staff were friendly enough, and kept the room clean. The two bottles of water provided on arrival were much appreciated. However, having to go down a corridor for toilet and washing facilities would not be to everyone's taste, nor would the location on a main road (though earplugs are provided to block the noise of the traffic). The venue seems very much like a side project for the restaurant next door. The constraints of working within a listed building mean that the improvements that guests may seek are unlikely to happen. Unless you're operating to a limited budget - as I was - there are better options available in Norwich.

Noisy

Unbelievably noisy, no soundproofing to rooms. Very clean though but not great for a light sleeper. Music very loud downstairs in restaurant can be heard in room. Someone making very loud mobile call on hallway late last night. Location is great for city. Odd check in process. Ear plugs saved the day. Get what you pay for. Would be fine for someone who sleeps through anything and would make it great value for money.

Cozy, cost-effective and clean, nothing more.

Namaste Palace Hotel states three things; it is cozy, cost-effective and clean. It holds up to these and only these very well. As there is a restaurant attached and the walls are quiet thin, you can hear not only other the patrons and the music in the restaurant but the other guests in the rooms next to you. Some notice of when music would stop and start for the day would have been incredibly helpful to allowing me to time when I sleep. The bathroom and shower is communal and kept to a clean standard so that wasn’t an issue at all. The beds are extremely soft so if you aren’t a fan of soft mattresses, you may want to steer clear. As a solo traveller, if you attempt to book a table for yourself in their restaurant through the QR codes in the room - you just can’t. Overall, my experience was good but some notice about noise levels would have been greatly appreciated.

This place is basic but clean and in a good location for the centre of town, but it is on a main road. The staff were very helpful when I was there, but there were bed bugs in the bed which I unfortunately discovered on my first night. They were fully booked for the rest of my stay so I needed to move, but all of that was beyond their control and they were helpful. They told me they had already started to process a full refund without me having to ask, however it is a full week later and I've still heard nothing. I rang them last week and they assured me they had processed the refund, so I waited several more days, but still nothing. Upon speaking to Expedia today they told me that the hotel had never started to process the refund! They are processing it (with a small amount of compensation to cover extra costs incurred) now, but the hotel never even started it and they reassured me several times that they had.

Good budget option for a short visit if you are ok. My room had no bathroom but the shared facility was clean with an excellent shower. Car park directly opposite hotel, overnight ticket expires at 0900.

It was a horrible stay for a week. First of all, the walls are incredibly thin—you can hear everything from the next room. One morning, an older lady was watching TV very loudly at 5 a.m., and on another night, there was a drunk couple shouting and making noise all night. This place doesn’t even deserve to be called a hotel.

Above an indian restaurant, so aroma of curry. Couldn't turn heating down. Only 1 towel for 2 people 2 nights. No guest parking. No reception area. But bed comfy, WiFi, and shared bathrooms were clean and a good price.

Had to wait a few mins for door to be answered. Even though we’d called ahead to confirm arrival. Difficulty with manage barrier and at first couldn’t find our booking. When he did he literally said the room number, gave us a card and said to go upstairs, no introduction, no guidance. The place seemed dirty straight away and had no feel of a hotel, it was more like a HMO. Our room was tiny, no bathroom (which I take blame for as I didn’t check correctly when I booked), hole in wardrobe, hard floor with no rugs or carpeting, rickety say windows and NO curtain or blind to keep the light out so be prepared to be woken with the rising sun. The linen has hairs on and just one pillow per person, although we did find an extra psi in the wardrobe. A tiny kettle with one teabag was the supposed breakfast I guess as we weren’t offered anything else despite believing it was bed and breakfast. The were practically made from cardboard and you could every single noise form the next room, music, talking, tv….couldnt believe it. The shared bathrooms were hideous, dirty, no hand towels in one of them, pee on toilet lids and questionable locks that most guests didn’t bother using. Why didn’t we complain there and then you ask. Well we would have done if anyone had shown their face or been around. We were literally left to it. If you want to experience third world accommodation come to the namaste and pay through the nose for it. Shame on your hotels.com for allowing these places to continue
