Cute, charming but loud

This is a unique hotel - very charming. Rooms are nicely appointed and clean. My only caution is maybe the obvious - it’s an old hotel. There is little to no sound proofing. Our room was right under the creaky old stairs and it was very very loud.

Not what I expected at all

The reviews looked great and I always wanted to stay here so thought I would give it a try. The check-in at 6pm online was okay. Got odd text with a picture of a door, with no follow up then was texted did you get a text with instructions which I took as the confirmation email so answered yes but that’s not what text was asking so then the whole process went downhill from there. It was late arrival we were tired from traveling all day and when we didn’t know how to enter which room number we actually were in and walking all the steps up to the second floor it was a lot. I’m able to climb stairs just wasn’t expecting that many. The elevator in the back was too unsafe weird sounding to try so that was a NO! Finally got to room still had no code to enter thankfully person was there to plug it in but didn’t tell it to us luckily we didn’t need to leave the room again. Then two trains come through town and since we don’t know the area well we are definitely thinking great this is not going to be a restful night. Room was cold no decent blanket in room and no plates in mock kitchen area. Plenty of cabinets but nothing in them. I’ve stayed in places like this before and had much better experience. It was disappointing and would not recommend it to others and won’t be back. It was adequate like staying at a place that provided an adequate bed and bathroom but nothing else. I’ll stick with Best Western next time though. price was high for a Wed. with an 8pm arrival, checkout by 10am

We truly enjoyed our stay at Eighteen Ninety Sleepover. The room was beautiful and antique. We loved the exposed brick and the original wood floors. We felt safe and we were super comfortable. We also really loved the notes from previous visitors. We will definitely be back to stay there again.

1890 Sleepover - Casey Illinois

Had to look twice when we pulled up to figure out how to get in. Received a text with check in codes (how to unlock doors). Room was cute but chilly. They do give you a space heater. We used it because temps in 20’s. Nice shower. Good tv. Comfortable bed. We enjoyed our stay. Would stay again!

Stayed one night while traveling through for business. I was told the room had a desk, it had a sewing machine table with foot controls underneath and no chair. Texted the host and was told someone would bring a chair. They showed up an hour later with a dusty folding chair. The room was COLD and got moreso as the night went on. The meager space heater provided was a joke. Room was at 68 when I arrived and set the temp at 74. It never got warmer and the heater temp display showed 66 when I woke up cold in the morning. No extra blankets either. No closet and nowhere to hang clothes except the 4-post bed frame. No iron. Bring your own toiletries for sure. Disappointing experience overall, I wouldn't recommend this "hotel" and won't stay again. Expected better based on the previous reviews.

We stay at the 1890 Sleepover on our trips to Ohio. We love the quaint community of Casey as the home of so many “largest” things. It’s a fun place to visit. The 1890 Sleepover is conveniently in the middle of everything, it’s very comfortable and modern yet, it takes you back in time. If you like antique architecture, you will love it here.

Hotel with awesome AirBNB vibe

Staff were prompt in giving us our codes and even sent a pic of the front door which made finding the place super easy. We ended up in the only room with no windows so it was a little stuffy but it was great that a fan was provided. Big TV was a huge plus and the bed was very comfortable. Nice towels and good water pressure in the shower. Down side was how much you can hear other guests in the building, but really liked the coupon for breakfast. Would definitely stay again. Went to the barn restaurant for dinner, which was close by. Locals were friendly.

Cutest Spot Ever!

My daughter and I stayed on the second floor for a single night as we were simply traveling through the town. We were absolutely amazed with the atmosphere and attention to detail of the space and experience. The beds were extremely comfortable, we slept like the dead! Shower was great both pressure and temperature wise. The fixtures and the furniture in the room/bathroom make it clear that the owner put a lot of time and love into this building. Our room had cute little notes from other travelers in the exposed brick which we of course loved and added to! Cleanliness, friendliness, and again, atmosphere, was unmatched, and we’ve stayed at chain hotels all over the country. Although we were only passing through for the night, we have already talked about planning a future trip specifically to this town to spend more nights here while we explore.

Small town Big comfort!

We had a delightful stay. The Sleepover was delightful! Loved the refurbished building. The room felt very cozy and had everything we needed. So close to all the town attractions that we walked to breakfast and strolled the town.

Convenient location. Clean and accessible. Obviously the trains going through less than a block away isn't ideal, but there's not anything that can be done about that. Having an A/C vent right above the bed, with no way to shut it off or adjust the temperature was a real problem. Otherwise, the atmosphere was good and it was a nice room.
