The Carmelence was a pleasant place and very good value-for-money considering what else is available in Tagaytay.
- The room was modern, bright, clean and well-equipped.
- Staff were very friendly and attentive.
- The provided breakfast was hearty, although they had a hard time delivering it hot.
- While the lodge is close to the Nasugbu Highway (main road to center of town), your only public transport option is jeepneys, since there are no taxis in Tagaytay and the Indian-type tuk-tuks aren't permitted that far along the highway.
- There's a small mall next door, with a Robinson's grocery.
- Some visitors might be bothered by the lodge being located right underneath two enormous microwave towers and just meters away from an electrical sub-station.
- Road noise and a nearby videoke joint were not unduly disturbing.
- Wifi ran 18-20 MBPS down and 3-8 MBPS up. Multiple boosters and full signal strength.
Overall, a good choice for a short stay in Tagaytay.
