We booked a one-night stay in a expensive family room and had a terrible experience. In the evening, a strong sewage stench spread from the bathroom drain, quickly filling the entire room. It was so bad we couldn’t stay in the bathroom or bedroom. With our toddler already asleep, we couldn’t just leave — we only asked for a partial refund due to the unacceptable conditions. Staff admitted the issue, and acknowledged the smell in writing. Yet they refused to offer any solution or refund. After much insistence, we were forced to pack up everything late at night, wake our child, and move to a smaller room with a literarily crying kid — just to escape the stench. When we followed up with both the hotel and Hotels.com, we were told the hotel would only refund the difference between the rooms — not a cent for the fact that our original room was uninhabitable. Avoid if you value basic comfort or expect any kind of support when things go wrong.
