The hotel was clean in the common areas and the room. Parking at a paid public garage adjacent to the hotel was inconvenient especially in the rain and was definitely not made clear in their description of the property at the time we made the reservation. Check in was simple, but staff checking us in was not friendly or helpful. The last night we were there, someone attempted to gain access to our room. We were told the next morning that our room showed that it was empty in their system. Whoever tried to access our room was able to open the door even though the deadbolt was supposedly engaged and we’re only stopped by the metal plate. This was reported upon check out and that person was highly concerned that someone was able to open the door, not to mention the fact that they were given keys to an occupied room. Breakfast was nice and served on actual plates, not paper which was a change of pace for most hotels. It was convenient to the highway and there were some nice restaurants within a short walking distance.
